DQ for January 28 Noah age 14

1. This is a very short, emotional chapter. How do you feel after reading about all of Noah's lies?
It was a lot to handle. I wouldn't be able to handle it if I was in Noah's shoes.
2. Do you think Noah was right in lying to his Dad?
I think his Dad deserved to know the truth
3. Will Noah eventually tell Guillermo the truth?
I think he will

1. Do you think there's a medical issue with Noah and Jude's mom or is she just having an affair?
I think she is just having an affair
2. Do you think Noah's dad would have understood if he had told him he liked Brian instead of Heather?
With the way he acted about Noah liking art, I don't think he would have understood
3. What do you think Noah will tell Jude about the affair?
I think he will tell her everything
4. Do you think Brian will come to grips with who he is? Do you think Noah will?
I think eventually they will get together

DQ-s Jude Age 16 - 38% - 64%

1. Until now Jude hasn't shown a real artistic talent at her school. There are only the Sand Women so far. Do you think Guillermo Garcia's mentoring will help her talent to come alive?
I think so. I don't think she like clay, and that is why the keep breaking.
2. Jude feels like hers and Noah's personalities have swapped bodies. Do you think it happened because of and after Noah's first jump from Devil's Drop when he almost drowned, or is there something more behind it?
There is definitely something more to it than that.
3. Jude's boycott isn't working. She is falling hard for the English guy, Oscar. But he sends her mixed signals and even Guillermo warns her about him. Do you think Oscar only plays with Jude's feelings or is there a chance for a real relationship between those two?
I think there could be a real relationship between both of them, but they seem to be both hiding things from each other
4. Jude discovers a beautiful love letter from Guillermo Garcia to his Dearest. Who do you think this woman was?
Some past lover that was the one for Guillermo Garcia.
5. What do you think was the second wish Jude whispers into stone angel's ear at Guillermo Garcia's studio?
Maybe something about Oscar or her brother

DQ's- Day 3 - Jude Age 16 - 38%

1. Noah has an affinity for seeing the animal in people, I can’t get Brian as a Bengal Tiger out of my head, but it paints a great picture of his personality. What would Noah be?
I am not really sure. Something shy and creative.
2. While playing with the Quiji board, Jude asks if M loves her, who do you think she if referring to?
Zephyr
3. Noah mentions that his mom keeps zoning out at lights and not doing what she normally does, what do you think is going on with her?
I think something has happened to her that the twins don't know about
4. Noah destroys all of Jude’s photos after her cruel game with Brian, including those of the sand angels, who do you think sent her sand angel photos to CSA?
Well I thought he did it so...
5. Which character are you emotionally connecting the most with so far in this story? Why?
I really like Jude. I think she is misunderstood and really misses her grandmother. I think she is trying to fit in and get her mom to like her too.

I found island in the book Pivot Point.
pg. 225. "the lights from the lone building - the snack hut - create a glowing island in the otherwise dark alley."

1. We are introduced to Jude in art school. Do you think she is actually talking with her dead grandmother? Do you think that her dead mother is sabotaging her art projects?
I think she is seeing a ghost of her grandmother, but I don't think her mother is sabotaging her art projects. I think she just has bad luck.
2. What are your thoughts on Fish and her charm bracelet? Why do you think Jude leaves these items in people’s bags?
I think Jude gives items to people she thinks need help. I think it is sweet how she tries to help people in her own creative way.
3. Noah didn't get into art school. Why do you think he was rejected?
I was really surprised that he didn't. I am not sure why he was rejected .
4. Why do you think the Englishman in the church is obsessed with taking Jude’s photos? Is this just a pick up line?
I think there is a connection between the two of them. He sees something in her that she doesn't see.
5. Jude finds Guillermo Garcia: The Rock Star of the Sculpture World. What do you think of their brief interaction?
He seemed to be a strange man who had something bad happen in his life
6. Noah has jumped from Devil’s Drop in a suicide attempt in the past. Jude describes how their twin-telepathy is gone. What do you think caused their relationship to sour?
I think when their mom died or when Noah didn't get into art school is when their telepathy disappeared.

Day One DQ
1. Any thoughts on the quotes at the beginning of the novel? Do you have a favorite one? Do any maybe relate to any things in the first chapter that may be viewed as a theme in this novel?

"It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are." - E. E. Cummings
I think this quote relates to the book because both the twins have to grow up in this story.

2. Any thoughts on Noah's "arousal" while he was being wrestled by Zephyr and Fry? Why do you think Zephyr hasn't told anyone about it...not yet anyway?

I think Zephyr hasn't told anyone yet because he is uncomfortable and confused about it, and he doesn't really know what to do about it.

3. What do you think of the writing style?

I like his writing style.

4. Any thoughts on the family dynamics? We have twins, a mom and dad, and a deceased grandmother. Noah believes his dad favors his sister and his mother favors him. Noah seems to favor his mom.

I feel like that is a typical dynamic when a family has two kids. One is usually favored be the mom and the other is favored by the dad. I think it explains a lot about the twins characters. Noah favors his mom as they are both artsy, and Jude and her dad both aren't artsy.

I have to go back to school on Monday but I can try to read some of the lower page count books.

I was planning on reading I'll Give You The Sun

I just finished. I really liked the book. It was different from the other books that I have read recently. It will be interesting to see what the plots will be for the other two books.

I am about half way through the book. I was confused in the beginning, but some of it is starting to make sense now.

I am done for this semester, but I start next semester shortly after New Year's sadly.

My exams were ok. I am just glad that they are over.
For Christmas I am staying home with my family, and it looks like it will be a rainy Christmas also.

Chapter 11 - 15 Questions

11. So what did you make of the information Scarlet gleaned about wolves? Was it to remind us there will be a wolf (I'm guessing werewolf) involved and/or perhaps subtly hinting that Wolf is an Omega?

I definitely think that there is something to do with a pack of wolves.

12. What did you make of Wolf's explanation of how he ended up on the farm? Did you buy into it? I did.

I thought he was sincere.

13. So LSOP = Loyal Soldier of the Pack? More hinting at werewolves?

Maybe not werewolves but a group of people who call themselves wolves possibly.

14. Did Scarlet do right be ridding herself of her dad? Do you think he'll betray her farther in the future?

I think she was smart. He would have sold her out to save his own skin. I think he will reappear later in the future.

15. So Scarlet's Grandmother was in the military. I really wish we knew what everyone was searching for. It's been a while since I read the last book.

I think she is hiding a secret from Scarlet.

16. So we have Dr. Eglands's assist on tape and Kai now knows he's Lunar. I can't wait until Cinder and he meet up in Africa. The whole Captain and Cinder situation is reminding me of Star Wars' Princess Leia and Hans Solo. Anyone else getting a little of that vibe?

I really what to see what happens once they reach Africa.

17. Queen Levana is uber creepy with her powers (Jedi mind control?). How could you defeat such a person?

Mirrors, lots and lots of mirrors.

18. Loved the integrating of Iko into the ship was fun. I loved her reaction to being so Huge and worried about what she looks like. Plus, the blushing scene. Very funny.

I was very excited that she was back. I loved her in the first book also.

7. So Kai doesn't know what to make of Cinder and is torn about his feelings and believe she used glamour. I find that interesting.

I think he likes her, but he is unsure on what to do because she is a cyborg and Lunar.

8. Wolf insists he's not the person who kidnapped Scarlet's father and claims to have people who can vouch for where he's been this whole week. Do you believe him? I think I do.

I believe him. I don't think he knows where her grandmother is.

9. What did you think of Cinder's escape? Did she use mind control on those last guards or was that part of the glamour? Why doesn't she do that more often?

I don't think she knows how to use her glamour yet.
