Melindam wrote: "Oh, preparing for this festival and the holiday itselft must be lovely Preeti!"It is. All the more since we didn't celebrate it for a few years due to some tragedies in the family and then last year was a bust. We can't visit anybody or have anybody over and family gatherings are sadly also out but we are planning on doing everything else.
My favourite thing is putting up the lights. We put them up now and keep them until the New Year. I have also been collecting all kinds of lamps and candles to light for the next few days. And of course, food glorious food.☺️

My reading sadly did the opposite despite the rains we have been experiencing. We have our major festival, Diwali, coming up on the 4th so have been busy with cleaning the house and preparing for the festivities.

Also, a doubt.. I am listening to the audiobook of a children's book that is over 5 hours long. That according to the rules means it is acceptable for this challenge. My question is where do I mention this?

Hi, all. Sorry for not having been around for the last few days. Some stuff came up and I haven't been able to do more than update my challenges. Luckily, I did have a lot of times where I had to sit around waiting for something or somebody so the reading didn't get affected. At present, I am listening to the audiobook of The Poisonwood Bible which has 50 spirituality tags. I have two other books to complete but will try and read another spirituality tag book.
I wish there was no minimum on the tags. Sadly, Anna Karenina had exactly 8 tags.

https://sammyjeancrafts.blogspot.com/..."Lovely cards, Sammy 👍🏻

The whole of the Wolf Hall series is on the .05 list for this round of Turf Wars and I have added them to the top of my list.
@Sammy, That sounds interesting. Are you on Insta and/or have a website? I would love to see your work.
Melindam wrote: "I think you need to answer the questions within a month from the start date of the BOM to get the points."Sammy wrote: "Hey Preeti, yes as Melinda says, you need to answer the questions within 30 days of the first set being asked. So if you were to read it at the start of Nov, it would still work, but not at the end..."Thanks, Melinda and Sammy. That is perfect.

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered but can the BOMs be read at any time or only within the corresponding months? That is, can I read the Oct BOM next month or does it only count for points this month? Thanks in advance.
Melindam wrote: "A recent favourite I reread yearly since its publication is "The Goblin Emperor" by Katherine Addison ."I bought the kindle edition after seeing so many people praise the book. This reminds me I ought to get around to reading it.
Melindam wrote: "I used to reread Monte Cristo every year in my teens. :D"I used to do the same thing with my favourite books 😊
Sammy wrote: "Preeti wrote: "@Sammy The Count of Monte Cristo is on my TBR as well. It is my all-time favourite book and is due for a re-read. Luckily for me, the books I own are the old Everyman Library ones wh..."Have you read
A Prisoner of Birth by Jeffrey Archer and/or
The Stars' Tennis Balls (also published as
Revenge) by Stephen Fry? They are my two favourite retellings of Monte Cristo.
I also liked the first few seasons of the TV series Revenge which was also a retelling. Unfortunately, the latter half of the show felt a bit too stretched out and I stopped watching it.
Sammy wrote: "So, to celebrate our awesome round, and to get us ready for all things spiritual..."👆🏻 🙌🏻 👏🏻

@Audrey, Yes. Finally got around to it. I think the motivating factors were the TV adaptation and the sequel. I decided I had to read it at least before the sequel came out.
@Sammy The Count of Monte Cristo is on my TBR as well. It is my all-time favourite book and is due for a re-read. Luckily for me, the books I own are the old Everyman Library ones where they are divided into two parts.

Looks like a lot of us are reading The Da Vinci Code for the next round. I hadn't planned on it initially but I am reading 2 veeerrry heavy books so need the break in between.
I don't know how I managed it but I am listening to the audiobook of Anna Karenina and reading the kindle book of A Suitable Boy. Both are huge, almost 3 times the size of my average books.
The saving grace is that I am loving both.
Sammy wrote: "Preeti, could you pop The Haunting of Hill House on your wheel shelf please?"Done. Sorry, I thought I had added it already.
Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler
The Book of Longings by Sue Monk Kidd
Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder.
Melindam wrote: "Believe it or not, The Da Vinci Code is also tagged spirituality 28 times. I may re-read it for the laughs. I think I liked it those long years ago. :D"I was just coming here to say the same thing. I might re-read it as I found the audiobook recently.

Yay, I didn't realise that one of my favourite books is tagged spirituality.
A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving has 28 tags of spirituality. The paperback I have is over 600 pages long.

Dash it, I am reading Anna Karenina (a nice big book that works for lots of alphabets) but it only has 8 spirituality tags.
I am going to keep my fingers crossed that before I have completed it (which I am aiming to do during the next round) at least 2 more people have tagged it.🤞🏻
