35559 DQ Day 4
First, this was a powerful book. Tough but intriguing. Glad I tried something that is a bit out of my normal reading.

14. I knew some sort of twist was coming, and I had a feeling it wasn't going to be a fun ending. My main reaction for the whole last portion of the book was wow.

15. I thought Claire sent it so that was surprising. I think Sadie sent it out of love, even though it went so wrong. I think she thought it would put Mattie at ease not make her even more obsessed.

16. I was somewhat relieved and yet at the same time not. I think he deserved to get caught and thrown in jail, not end up dead.

17. I don't think Claire hated Sadie, I think in her own perhaps "twisted" way really did love her. While I'm not sure Claire's "story" was completely true, I think it was what was she truly believed was the truth.

18. The ending was WOW. Not a huge fan of the open-end-ness and yet it somehow seems almost appropriate for this tale. I would have liked a few more answers, but ok with the ending as is. Powerful read and once again I'm glad I took the time to push through and read the entire book.

35559 Forever and a Day by Anthony Horowitz 1/6/19: 336 pages

35559 DQ Day 3

9. I think it was Claire's way of saying I love you and goodbye all at the same time. The tension between them made it almost impossible to express that love when Sadie is "awake" so she waited until she thought she was asleep.

10. I think Sadie was so tired that she couldn't think straight enough to stick with her old story and instead told a semi-truth. Her mission does involve her sister and Cat was not a part of that plan so she didn't need to stick to the old lie.

11. I think we will learn more in the end, but yes I think Javi turned him in after talking with Sadie. It would also help explain why he was ignoring Noah earlier.

12. I think Ellis will be too stunned and horrified to tip off Keith.

13. I'm not sure Sadie will be able to go through with it in the end. I do think she will come close, but may be too exhausted from the journey to complete her revenge.
35559 In Her Bones by Kate Moretti : 1/1 - 308 pages

35559 DQ Day 2:

5. I think in some ways this quote is accurate in that sounds, words and images can be crafted to created what someone sees as a perfect world. Unfortunately, the world is not what we see on the Internet and in fact a lot of what is out there is fictional in one way or another so that it doesn't actually represent the real world just the perfect fictional world.

6. At first I thought the box contained money. After Sadie's reaction though, I think that it contained disturbing pictures or objects of some kind.

7. I was not surprised she called Javi since they did seem to connect the evening before. As for why he isn't answering Noah, I think Sadie told him some of the truth and he isn't sure how to deal with it, or he might understand but doesn't think Noah would.

8. I think May Beth knows, or at least thinks, that Sadie did something bordering on illegal before she disappeared. Or perhaps she made mention of getting justice for Mattie's death and now May Beth is afraid revealing that could get Sadie in trouble.
35559 This was highly recommended to me by one of my library patrons at work. Hoping my copy comes in for me in time.
35559 This is my first BOM and I’m determined to keep us.
Questions:
1. I was very intrigued by the description of the book, but was also not quite sure what to expect. It is not something I would usually read because it sounds like it could be a bit heavy, but I’m striving to branch out of my usual readings.

2. I really like the structure because it’s different from what I usually read.

3. While I don’t fully agree that listeners wouldn’t be interested, sadly I feel that girls going missing happens way too frequently and at times comes across almost as routine.

4. I had to do some thinking about this question and am still not completely sure, but I think the importance of family and the bond that is there despite even the most difficult of circumstances. I also think that perhaps it’s about how people deal with “struggle” whether it be in relation to a family member or a request or a sad tale.

Looking forward to reading more.
