35559 So, when are we starting the next book??
Feb 09, 2012 06:02PM

35559 ok! I'll divide and PM.

35559 The first in Johnny Quest and the last is Captain Planet or something, I think. Am I right Midu? God, that gives me out as a geek.
Feb 09, 2012 06:31AM

35559 Yep - lets PM, instead of a thread?
Feb 09, 2012 06:24AM

35559 Ok, post #972 was not to point out the book - it was just me ranting. I'm ok to start tomorrow if you can. Nope, we have to create a thread for the second book. We had one for the first.

35559 I've been staring at my TBR for close to 2 hours but I can't seem to decide what book to start. :( :( :( It's bedtime and I can't seem to decide a book to read in bed!
Feb 09, 2012 06:18AM

35559 Okie, I'm ready to start anytime.
Feb 09, 2012 06:16AM

35559 Lisa Kay is definitely The Queen. I really don't know how she does it. I fell back on two BR this month because I was behind on my reading. Both with Lisa Kay, of course.

Sashana wrote: "This is news to me. I always thought you guys were buddy reading princesses (Lisa Kay being the queen, of course :)"

35559 No! It's you too! I can point out some BR.. :P

Midu wrote: "I was just being polite! Its YOU! hehehe"

Which book are you talking about? Hunger Games might fit one of the shelf :P Not sure about Shadow's edge - it will fit male author but dunno about any other shelf.

Midu wrote: "We can wait and see if the book fits a BINGO shelf or just read it anyway, if it doesn't."

35559 LOL, Midu! Here, I was just about to message you if you want to read Shadow's Edge (Night Angel, #2) by Brent Weeks - I'm in the mood for something dark and edgy - but I guess that's shot down, huh. And we (you too! :P) do suck at buddy reads.
35559 Yep, I had the same reaction as you. After StS, VoH just seemed to fall flat. Maybe because the second time around, I had lower expectation or something, cos it was better. Mine to Possess (Clay and Talin) was one of the worst and I hated Talin - and I'm not looking forward for a second-read. I'm so tempted to skip the book!

35559 Sashana, I figured out why - in the first page, for Legend, it says the start date is Feb 14. I figure that's why it's sending notification out early. The start date is wrong for the Ann Prachett book as well.
Feb 09, 2012 04:49AM

35559 Unfortunately, that's true.

Midu wrote: "Hehehe Vi, I'm like a spoiler factory for ya!"

I should pick up Hunger Games - maybe this month.

35559 Why?????!!!!!!!!! I think it's spoiler week for me - I just got spoiled on who Katniss in Hunger Games series ends with from the comments. I haven't even read that series yet! Drat my luck!

It's a thoughtful article. I agree that the heroines need to have a more realistic fault - I don't want a perfect heroine who can do and save everything and be perfect. I'll hate her. But one with realistic faults (the klutz thing is really annoying or the love of satin and lace underwear). And then I got reminded of Kate Daniels - she's really a very imperfect heroine. Really really imperfect. But the way the authors have built her up from the first to the recent ones have made me very happy.

35559 Superman is just posing (so is the guy on the right, but!). Batman is not posing so obviously :P

35559 Um, is the date changed to 14th? Cos the thread date hasn't changed but I got notification from GR..
35559 I would still recommend you to jump in. Judd's book is one of my top favorite books of all time. But I gotta say, I liked Visions of Heat better the second time around. First time - not so much. And I don't know why.
35559 I agree, Rose. I used it to cheer up yesterday and it felt great! Lisa Kay, I'm planning to indulge myself that way soon. I have some but not all of Friends. I should correct that oversight asap.

I love Caressed By Ice. The best tortured-virgin hero ever. Remember in the first book, a Psy-councillor Enrique kidnapped a woman from the Snow-dancer pack? The one who was found alive? Well, she's the heroine in this one. It's basically her survival and the relationship development between her and Judd Walker. I love how their relationship develops. I loved Judd in this book. Nalini really made it work in this book. It's just that it was the worst time to start after the ending scene in Iron Kissed, if you can understand.

Midu, you've gotta read this series and the Guild Hunter series. You won't then say Nalini Singh's all right.
35559 Lisa Kay, those are yummy!! Let me eat them while *someone* is still asleep. Thanks for them! Midu, you can't steal my stull cos I'm gonna eat them before you wake up :P

I don't know what wrong with me but I picked up Caressed By Ice (Psy-Changeling, #3) by Nalini Singh - now I'm feeling for both Mercy and Brenna. I'm going to search for my happy book now - though I did watch 2 episodes of Friends yesterday and I'm feeling much better now.

35559 oooh! Great pics, Midu! The batman is soooo amazing. And so hot!
