35559 So Jenny, did you reach out to Cat?

As we are approaching the end of another Itinerary is everyone else good to go another trip?

35559 Yikes, I forgot you were in Melbourne too Paulette. Thinking of you guys, it's tough. And it could spread anywhere, any State, anytime...So we are definitely all in this together.

35559 Thanks so much Tina. I'm booked to go to Uluru on the 16th so am hoping that can go ahead. But in the scheme of what's going on in the world I'll be disappointed if I have to postpone but it's no biggie. I've got my kindle all loaded with the shortish books I've got for the challenge so should be able to finish quite a few on the flights.

35559 At least the lockdown is being productive for you Tina. Really hope they get it under control and you'll be back to some sort of normal soon.

35559 Finished The Diabolical Bones by Bella Ellis and on shelf and s/sheet.

For anyone who loves the Bronte Sisters this is a great historical mystery series featuring the sisters (and Bramwell tagging along) solving crimes and giving them inspiration for their work.

Karen, I think you'd really love this series. I was a bit skeptical to begin with when I read the first one but it really is a lovely homage and beautifully researched.

35559 Here's the exact wording of the detour, Sally.
Read a book shelved (listed on the first page of the "top shelves" of the book) as 2005 - plurals and minor spelling variations are acceptable.

So go to the top shelves and if there is a category 2005 you're good to go. I have a few books on my TBR published in 2005 but they weren't shelved that way. A bit tricky.

35559 I actually have a book for Brazil.. either that or spell it out.
May 29, 2021 09:52PM

35559 Finished a quickie Pickpocket's Apprentice (John Pickett Mysteries, #0.5) by Sheri Cobb South which I used for the chess piece in Bingo - as the MC is taught chess and a lot is made of him being super good at it.

35559 Yes, I sent Abir a PM on 15 May but haven't received a reply. I don't think she has been active on Goodreads for a few months, I hope she is okay. I know she was really busy with work and study and hopefully that is taking a priority now.

So Louise and Namita still reading for Stop 7. Do we want to start thinking about stop 8, the final one for this Itinerary?

Detour - Read a book with top shelves 2005 or the stop is Palmas, Brazil.

35559 Missed out on doing the DQ's for Mort... but looking forward to reading it anyways. It will be my first discworld book.

35559 Great going Tina. I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad I didn't get to do questions for the Backroom BOM. Sad for not getting the extra points but glad I don't have to think of how to tactfully phrase naughty questions..hee hee

35559 Finished The Case of the Missing Morris Dancer (WISE Enquiries Agency #2) by Cathy Ace I actually used the kindle edition. On shelf and sheet.
May 24, 2021 05:40PM

35559 Finally finished this one - The Women of Chateau Lafayette by Stephanie Dray . Really recommend it if you love historical characters brought to life in a good story. 5 stars. On shelf and sheet.

And now for something a bit lighter on THE CASE OF THE MISSING MORRIS DANCER (WISE Enquiries Agency Mysteries Book 2) by Cathy Ace - for one of the more unusual tasks.

35559 Enjoy your Eurovision Karen. Bummer that (view spoiler)

I spent the day with the oldest two grandkids, 7 and 5, ferry, Aquarium, Wildlife Zoo and lunch at Pancakes on the Rocks. Nanna is exhausted but we had a wonderful day. Time to curl up in bed with my book.

Everyone enjoy your weekend.

35559 Finished Dying Truth (D.I. Kim Stone, #8) by Angela Marsons - 5 stars. Great series with horrible crimes but the developing character relationships are awesome.

** This one fits 90 - Author initials AM but have used the Bingo Jelly Baby - it is in the text when a character tells an anecdote about how he gorged on them as a kid - "haven't been able to look at a Jelly Baby ever since." Thought it would be a trickier one to get. I'll be reading another Angela Marsons next month so if it's free I'll do Task 90 then.

Don't worry, Tina. It fitted some other tasks. 😊
