The Last Flight by Julie Clark
Two women. Two Flights. One last chance to disappear.
Claire Cook has a perfect life. Married to the scion of a political dynasty, with a Manhattan townhouse and a staff of ten, her surroundings are elegant, her days flawlessly choreographed, and her future auspicious. But behind closed doors, nothing is quite as it seems. That perfect husband has a temper that burns as bright as his promising political career, and he's not above using his staff to track Claire's every move, making sure she's living up to his impossible standards. But what he doesn't know is that Claire has worked for months on a plan to vanish.
A chance meeting in an airport bar brings her together with a woman whose circumstances seem equally dire. Together they make a last-minute decision to switch tickets ― Claire taking Eva's flight to Oakland, and Eva traveling to Puerto Rico as Claire. They believe the swap will give each of them the head start they need to begin again somewhere far away. But when the flight to Puerto Rico goes down, Claire realizes it's no longer a head start but a new life. Cut off, out of options, with the news of her death about to explode in the media, Claire will assume Eva's identity, and along with it, the secrets Eva fought so hard to keep hidden.
The Last Flight is the story of two women―both alone, both scared―and one agonizing decision that will change the trajectory of both of their lives.

Oh yes I suggested it, I mean I haven't nominated a book yet on the group's BOM nomination thread.
I found the nomination thread. Should I just nominate Last Flight and mentioned that it's from our team?

ETA out of YA nominated I can only get hold of Moxie"
I haven't had the chance to nominate a book yet, I'm not sure how it works or I probably missed that when I joined the group. 🤦♀️✌️

While we are waiting for a few people to finish books for this stop, we can vote on what we want to do next:
1. Spell it out - Hiroshima
2. Read a book by a Jap..."
I'm good with 1 and 3. :)

Thank you Danielle :)

Hi Cathy! Looking forward to play TT with you! :)

I've been wanting to read The Last Flight, The Sun Down Motel or any in the Mysteries/Thrillers genre (my weakness). For the nonfiction ones, I would like to suggest some memoir particularly Mixed Plate: Chronicles of an All-American Combo.

I'm currently reading the April YA BOM, Aurora Rising and, left to myself, would probably have suggested book2
Which is NOT to say that that's what I think we should nominate, just that I struggle more with the YA nominations, and this is a lazy solution for me that I'd be happy with!
Shout out with suggestions, and we'll work to agree one we can all support. And of course, you do NOT need to read it at the end of the process either."
If I understand this correctly, we are gathering suggestions for a YA book? Sorry for asking such a silly question, I'm new at this.

I second this.

We use it as a cross check that we've got all the books that you've read, so yes, please."

No, it doesn’t."
Which one? Yes or no? :)

Romance is my main genre to read, but I do love fantasy."
My main genre are crime/thriller/mysteries, romance (not to cheesy though lol)

I'm Alyana and from Queens, NY.
This would be my first ever TT challenge. I haven't read any Discworld before but I can probably try although not much of a scifi-fantasy reader. Looking forward to reading with you all! :)

The story flow of both books are kind of similar in a way. I liked them both. They both started slow and got exciting towards the end. But I felt the ending was rushed with The Guest List.

Just for fun - shout out if a book you finish fits a bingo square and we'll see how many we can cover before ..."
I just finished The Hunting Party which the story revolved around solving the mystery of the DEATH on one of the main characters.

Oh okay! Yeah I don't think I can do the 3 straight hours. Lol. I'll still participate in the readathon but I'll just listen to what I can :)

So this will be my first time to participate in a 24hr readathon, how do I get started? Just start reading/ listening? This might be a dumb question, with the 3 consecutive hours, does that mean I have to listen to a book for 3 straight hours?
