35559 Well that's how I've always thought of it when doing them -less summary and more personal thoughts but like I say I don't think I'm very good at them at all! :) Also now that I'm reading yours I'm thinking- with a little summary like you have then you aren't having to flip to another page and read the books offical summary if it isn't a book I'm already familiar with. I just don't read them if it is really long -some people re-go-over the entire book it seems like! All in all if someones review gives constructive, concrete reason (usually personal feeling) for or against the book it influences me- sometimes the opposite of what they intended but oh well!! :)

35559 I also wish I could write better reviews but since I'm not much of a writer it is a problem. I agree that I don't like to recap the book since you can read the synopsis if you want to know what it is about to that extent. I like to write and read reviews that say how I feel about the book the characters how easy or hard it is to read. I don't really read long drawn out ones because then I might as well just read the book. Sashana I absolutely adore the first paragraph of your top review and based off of that would really love to read that book! :)

35559 My library use to have a favorite authors thing and you would automatically get you favs put on hold! Sadly they don't do it anymore :( Some of mine are Janet Evanovich, Sue Grafton, Maeve Binchy, John Grisham, Lisa Gardner, Tess Gerritsen, Nicholas Sparks, Mary Higgins Clark, Carol Higgins Clark,Tami Hoag, Stephanie Bond, Betty Hechtman and Danielle Steel (when it comes out on audio). Plus I'm sure I'm not thinking of some and that is why I miss that feature!

35559 I use to just read one at a time but lately I'm usually reading 2 or 3 and listening to at least 2 sometimes 3. It does feel overwhelming at times :)

Lauren, I really wanted to read House Rules but since I have a son with autism I was very worried how I'd feel with my experience with Handle With Care. So I'm wondering if you read it and what you think. Thanks for input!

35559 I tell you I'm still bothered like all get out by the ending of Handle With Care by Jodi Picoult -haven't read anything by her since. It was so needless and just made me mad. Also another book- now I loved this book but the end was defenitely a HMMMMM- I Am Not Sidney Poitier: A Novel by Percival Everett like I said thoroughly enjoyed but still a little off kilter from the ending!

35559 I have been reading 4 chapters a day -so I will have it done when it is due at the library in 2 weeks (and no I'm not normally this OCD but is seemed like a plan). I'm done with Chapter 15. My inital impression is I'm enjoying it but am soooo glad I'm far out of high school! I feel horrible for Isobel because I think at this point if it wasn't for the cheerleading she would just cut ties w/ her old friends. But also I see where these are the friends you trusted. Situation just is lousy all around. And Varen I keep switching his name to Raven in my head but haven't figured out what to switch his last name to! ok I ramble but those are my thoughts so far. And I have never done one of these discussions before so if I screw it up nicely let me know! :)
