I have 1 nature book - The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs: A New History of a Lost World
I have started one literary fiction, but can stop and start something else until the mini begins- The Secret History
And I have a #3, #5 & #8 for the series. I have paused my #8. I'm about 1/3 of the way through.
I'll claim the ones I've started and the two I'm reading for other challenges.
I'll do the others if no one claims them and I'm.

Hey Eni, that was me 😶 i was just trying to make sure thar as many categories were filled in as poss. Once I saw we were on at the same time I stopped.

Oooh, very good tip. I will defo be utilising this.
Also, I managed to finish another 9 sincey last update. The nest books were both 4 stars, Half of a Yellow Sun and Monster in My Closet. Two very different books, but both very good.
I had a few surprising disappointments. Slouch Witch looks to have all the makings of a really good fun urban fantasy series, but ended up being a lemon. That mc was hard to like, and the romance was totally unbelievable. And Love in the Time of Cholera was quite uncomfortable. I loved 100 Years, but the casual and quasi-comical treatment of rape left a bad taste in my mouth. I didn't like the MCs much in the first place. But when it turns out one of them is a rapist, I honestly quit caring about his life. The creepy sort of pederasty is nasty, too. It's not a good book, for me anyway.

The book that inspired (at least in terms of writing style) Kushiel's Dart, which made it a must-read for me.
It's beautiful! And an interes..."
That's good to know. I've got Fire from Heaven languishing in a "to read" pile. I, too, loved Kushiel's Dart, so maybe I've got bump it up. It's only been physically sitting there waiting to be read for three years. I even put it on the coffee table in my livng room where I put my current reads. Still, it ended up back on the "sooner to read" shelf.
