35559 Has anyone read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes? I know it's not part of the buddy reads but I figured I would go all in with The Hunger Games series and start with that before I start the first Hunger Games. I bet Coriolanus Snow is going to have a great story.

35559 I see some have put more than one choice down for the "How if fits section." Should we all be doing that? Or just pick one?

35559 Stacey wrote: "On the Hunger games buddy read - do we need to link our comments for points somewhere, or are we just trusting that we participated?"

Per the rules:

"Informal buddy reads will be held for the original trilogy of the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. One informal buddy read for each month of the challenge.

Informal buddy reads means there will not be formal discussion questions as with our groups BOMs.

However, in order to earn the 20 points for participation, players need to post at least 3 posts that provide a reasonable contribution to the discussion of the book. You do not need to provide a school worthy book report, but the posts need to be more than "Katniss is awesome" or "I love this book" to count for participation points.

35559 Looks like I'm starting with an arc I just received.

When we finish a book are we just marking it on the sheet? For UNO our captains wanted us to complete it on the sheet and then do a completion post.

What is considered a BIG BOY book? Over 500pgs? I've been debating reading When a Moth Loved a Bee which is 830pgs but it's the first book in a series and it came out in Feb 2023 and the second book hasn't even been announced yet, actually on the author's website under release date: On Hold, so I don't know if I want to start it. I think that's the biggest on my TBR list.

35559 When I get in a book slump, I always go back to Kristen Ashley books. I don't know why but she is my comfort reads author.

I forget about series I started sometimes. It's not because they are bad just having to wait for the next book to come out sometimes takes forever and I forget. But I have a shelf that I named "series read" and I've gone back and made a list of series I have started and forgot about and am slowly going back and finishing them.

35559 Hello fellow District 9ers! I'm Jillian but JL is fine. I'm from Michigan where I live with my husband and our two sons and two dogs. I work as an administrative assistant 4 days a week. I enjoy reading (obviously) and usually juggle around 2-3 books at a time, puzzles (like actual Jigsaw puzzles, and going to concerts with my husband. We had kids pretty early and now that they are old enough to take care of their selves, we are finding ourselves doing more and more just us. Kinda recapturing our 20's in our 40's.

What was your last 5 🌟 book?
Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick. I'm usually strictly a romance kinda girl with some suspense and mystery sprinkled in, and never read non-fiction but, I needed a blue cover for UNO, and this worked. I listened to the audio version that she narrated herself and I loved it! But I usually love anything Kendrick is in so....

What book are you excited to read from your TBR shelf?
The next Mercedes Thompson book in the Mercedes Thompson series by Patricia Briggs by drops in June so I've been excited for that.

Have you read/watched the Hunger Games? Did you enjoy it?
Yes and Yes.

What is your favorite food? (Since we are the grain district!)
I love Mexican food.

What is your favorite season? ☀️❄️🌸🍁
Fall is my favorite season hands down, as I love a big comfy hoodies and jeans over anything else, but as I live right next to lake Michigan, I love the summer when I can go to the beach and lay in the sun with a good book.

My shelf is: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...
