Hi ladies.

I'm halfway done with The Circle and boy I wouldn't want to have that in our future. I feel like that's too much of an invasion of privacy but it's a good book and it sure makes you think. LOL

I added links for those of us that posted DQs on the spreadsheet but it only counts when we complete the book.

Jen I'm surprise your fingers aren't cramping with all that writing. ;) Hope you get some reading done.

Hina I'm sure the Mods will be ok with the page count from B&N but I'll ask them now since I forgot to do that before. LOL

QUESTIONS SET 1

1. ALTHOUGH THIS BOOK WAS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN OCTOBER 2013 I WAS AMAZED WITH THE OPENING PAGES DESCRIBING THE CIRCLE'S CAMPUS IN LIGHT OF NEWS REPORTS THIS WEEK OF THE OPENING OF APPLE'S AMAZING NEW HEADQUARTERS! WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS IN REGARDS TO THIS BOOK AND HOW MUCH OF WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN THE REAL LIFE TECH WORLD DO YOU THINK WILL INFLUENCE THE PLOT LINE OF THE STORY?
Its freaky thinking how this book invades everyone's privacy. I'm not sure I would like a company or anyone for that what knowing too much or more of me than I know of myself. I think the technology world is a bit too scary.

2. INITIAL IMPRESSIONS OF THE MAJOR CHARACTERS MAE AND ANNIE? DO YOU GET THE FEELING THAT THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS NOT AN EQUITABLE ONE AND HOW DO YOU THINK IT MAY CHANGE AS THE STORY PROGRESSES?
The seem to be totally opposites and I think as we go along through the book I believe they will be at opposite ends. Something is going to change with one of them and I'm going to lean more towards Mae because Annie acts like this company is the greatest thing but Mae is becoming a popular person because she seems to be really smart and quick with the programs that jealously may become an issue too.

3. DO YOU LIKE THE CONTINUING FORMAT OF THE NOVEL AND THE LACK OF DEFINED CHAPTERS? WHY TO YOU THINK DAVE EGGERS HAS WRITTEN THE BOOK THIS WAY?
I'm not sure I like it but I think Dave Eggers did it that way to make it continuous be its a bit confussing or off at times.

4. MAE AND FRANK? WHAT DO YOU THINK FRANK'S CONTRIBUTION TO THE STORY LINE WILL BE? DO YOU SEE ANY RELATIONSHIP EVOLVING BETWEEN THEM?
I'm not sure yet about Frank besides maybe a close friend or love interest or maybe someone who will help or reveal something about the company. He just doesn't seem to be her type.

5. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR AND IF SOMETHING IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS ARE TWO SAYINGS THAT IMMEDIATELY SPRING TO MIND WHEN READING THIS BOOK. AT THIS EARLY STAGE WHERE ARE YOU IMAGINING THE STORY IS HEADING?
I see something being revealed in the company that will either be bad or evil. It just too good to have everything too perfect. Its just not possible. Nothing is perfect and there's always someone who wants to be in control of everything and everyone.

6. DOES THIS BOOK REMIND YOU OF ANY OTHERS YOU HAVE READ OR ARE YOU FINDING THE STORY FRESH AND ORIGINAL? 
So far this book doesn't sound like anything I've read.

Awesome ladies! Thanks for adding the books and the info. It makes it easier for me to try and fix or post them in the spreadsheet while on my phone. If you can add the link/s to the BOM that would be helpful too.

Yes I was using the browser but for quick checks I use the app. It does take longer but I try :)

HI everyone. Sorry for being MIA but things happened and it's been busy but I see you're still chatting. As for reading go didn't stop but not reading as much because of all the back and forth but trying to get some reading done because I have tons of challenges I need to cover. LOL I'm such a challenge junkie ;)
