I own 12 different copies of Boyfriend Material and I'm only slightly ashamed..."
oh no! lol 12?!?!
I've definitely bought a few too many duplicates so now I have a "bought-Kindle" shelf AND a "physical copy owned" and now I've added a "bought audio" because that was my mistake - I was buying them in multiple formats!

we also have Irena, Ireland, Irene, The Ire)

I've read Noir - it was book 2 and not too bad.
Others might have other selection options 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Right I'll leave you all alone and stop interfering in not my team."
I mean. . .or we could just return Noir right back
and YOU guys can read Noire
lol 😉😏

I'm curious why we keep pushing back on teammates willing to read a book that would make the selection tougher on the other team.
it IS a competition and this is the second team to return really tough selections that force us to use more than 3 letters but that isn't what we're doing to them.
I may be the only one feeling this ways. . .I was just curious since I've seen us say no to many selections

The first one was just okay (but short) and the second one was really good!

I'll start it tomorrow!

I can read two if they are needed:
Maybe Not (160 pages) and is a 1.5
Double Crossed: A Spies and Thieves Story (124 pages) and is a 2.5

(it IS weird answering your own questions. lol)
9. We keep hearing how people smell. Luzia of orange blossoms, Perez of plums and amber. Why do you think the author keeps mentioning this? Do the smells mean more than just an odor?
I think it's tied to magic too! but it makes me wonder, if it's tied to magic - why does Perez smell. Why did she mention that? Does he have magic swirling around him in a way we don't know?
10. We are over halfway through the book. What has been your favorite part/scene/person/line so far?
There have been 2 quotes I've noted so far that I loved:
"There is a fine line between a saint and a witch"
"If he had met grief as an honest man, he might not have feared greeting death on the same road."
11. Valentina and Marius seem to be rekindling their marriage, finding love where there wasn't before. Why do you think the author is adding that part of the story when she could have left it out?
Now that we know Luzia's magic can spread and possibly change emotion - I wonder if she was partly making Valentina unhappy. Could her own unhappiness have spread just like her happiness spread? Or is it only that she's using the magic now and that is altering emotions?
11. Now we are over halfway and know more of Luzia, the competition and this world. Why do you think the publisher and possibly the author chose this cover over any other possibilities? If you could remake the cover, what would you want it to look like?
I love that others like this cover. I think it's okay -
I like the chain and the scorpion - they make me think of the chain and dress she wore when competing and Santangel
but I don't like the hand or the clothing - neither seem to match our scullery maid. I'd have loved incorporating the vines or leaves with the grapes or pomegranate. But I guess we'll see if the red and jewels make more sense later in the story.
