35559 I saw the same reviews but people on the last Tower Teams challenge loved them so I put on my TBR.

35559 Crystal, I am loving The Paper Magician series since it sort of reminds me of the Harry Potter books/world but following a student of a magically school (who reminds me a lot of Hermoine) after graduation as she does her required apprenticeship and is determined to catch evil magicians even though she is not a certified magician yet and is repeatedly told to keep studying and let the authorities handle it.

How are you liking your books, Crystal?

Best wishes for everyone's health-- Divya and Erika!

That sometimes happens to me when I use the app instead of just going to the website. I edited, lol.

35559 Awesome!

35559 I have a few paranormal series to read so there will be book #2's so they can be used for bonus points or a miss task. I don't mind what my books are used for as long as they are useful. I'll have to add everyone's suggestions to my TBR list.

35559 I like all paranormal but my favorite is ghosts

35559 Sorry, 2nd book in the series is the task and I have at least 1 book for that too. I love these challenges since they make me read more books to possible shorten my TBR list.

35559 Kim, I read Books 1-4 of the Oz series for Tower Teams so I guess I am just lucky. I also read books 1-4 of Sookie Stackhouse series, Dublin Murder Squad, and Mortal Instruments so I have a ton of 5th books to read. I also have a 3rd books in a series to read if anyone wants to do that task.

35559 I have a 5th book in a series to read if someone else has one too: The Road to Oz (Oz, #5) by L. Frank Baum The Road to Oz. Let me know if anyone else wants to read to do the Miss Task and I'll read too.

35559 Definitely

35559 I just finished my mystery bonus book. It was a Kindle book with Whispersync so more portable than my hardback young adult book (which I have less than 100 pages left). When do we have to finish these books for them to count for Battleship? Is it okay for me to read another mystery or should I focus on paranormal or contemporary?
Jun 21, 2016 02:14PM

35559 I am reading both.
Jun 20, 2016 07:32PM

35559 1. What book you would make everyone read, if you could? Why?

Only one book? There are people that I would love if they would just read one book, any book. To Kill A Mockingbird, A History of Love, The Harry Potter series, or any book that has multiple morales/life lessons.

2. Do you reread?

Yes, sometimes only parts of and sometimes all of my favorite books.

3. Do you DNF (did not finish) books? If so, how often?

Yes, but usually I come back to years later to finish. Usually only happens a few times a year.

4. What is your favorite book you have read in 2016 so far?

The Serpent King

5. How many books are on your TBR?

2921

6. How many books do you hope to read this year?

100

35559 Ok, I only read about halfway through the thread so far so I am going to attempt an intro now.

Hi , I am Victoria and I currently live near Dallas, TX but am originally from Ohio. I am 32, married, no kids, and have 3 fur babies-- 2 cats (Oscar and Sasha) and 2 chocolate lab (Shelby). I see everyone is still trying to figure out what they want to do, career-wise. I am a Quality Lab Supervisor in the food/beverage industry which sounds like a more interesting job than it really is and while it is not really what I want to do the rest of my life (or I am going to have a heart attack by 35) but it pays the bills and it feels like I am getting experience to get a job that I may enjoy in the future. I like reading just about everything but I tend to read a lot of young adult, fanasty, contemporary, historical fiction, classics, psychology, history and science. I have a ton of favorite books like Harry Potter, Charlotte's Web, To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Serpent King. I am trying to read all the books on the ALA List of Banned/Challenged Books and the Modern Library's Top 100 Books.

Other than reading, I love yoga, martial arts, traveling, road trips, hiking, and biking. I like gardening when I lived at home but now I live in an apartment and my cats kill all indoor plants. I know how to crochet and sew on a sewing machine but have not done since I lived at home. Every once in a while I do cross stitching or make friendship bracelets (can do some complicated patterns) but it is usually around the holidays. I try to do a scrapbook every year but I am definitely not a creative person. I love coloring books and had Precious Moments coloring books before I could find the adult coloring books out now.

I think I hit on most of the topics you all discussed in the pre-challenge talk. I'll start looking for all the "greeting to know you questions"

35559 I posted the books on the READ page with guesses on what tasks they could be used for.
Jun 20, 2016 12:56PM

35559 I usually do 2-3 books a week. Last Tower Team Challenge I ended up averaging almost a book a day but then I was burnt out of reading for a few months.

35559 Here is the link to my wobble bookshelf: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

I read Out of Sorts Out of Sorts by Aurélie Valognes and the only book that is on my currently reading shelf that I started after June 17th is My Lady Jane by Cynthia Hand My Lady Jane but I am not sure if these can be put toward any open goals? Never played this kind of game challenge before. Is there anything open that I should search my TBR?
