35559 In Dorothy and the Wizard of Oz Chapter 19, the Woggle-Bug and the Tin Woodsman both give speeches to the jury during a murder trial but the entire Emerald City is there as spectators. Could this work for the speech goal?

35559 Books with "high priestess" in them:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_pg_3?r...

Does anyone have any of these on their TBR list. If not, I do but will not be able to get to until next week.

I think the "shelved" goal may be harder to do.

35559 Is "coming out of the closet" goal mean literally or figuratively "coming out of the closet? Or either?

35559 Sorry, I have been MIA. I have been working long hours this week. I just posted to my shelf the audiobook I just finished this morning-- Ozma of Oz (Oz#3). I am working in the BOM A Darker Shade of Magic too.
35559 A Darker Shade of Magic DQs
Day 2: Jan 2
Chapters III – IV, pages 58 - 108

06. "Lila Bard lived by a simple rule: if a thing was worth having, it was worth taking."
We are introduced to the Shadow Thief. Do you enjoy "tomboy" heroines in literature? What's your favourite female lead in a book?

I do enjoy tomboy heroines. My favorite is Katniss from Hunger a Games.

07. "Looking for trouble, he’d say. You’re gonna look till you find it.
Trouble is the looker, she’d answer. It keeps looking till it finds you."
Which side are you on, on this debate and why?

I think people make their own trouble most of the time.

08. "Our throne is not something you’re born to. It’s not held by blood. But taken by it."
The Dane siblings and Holland seem to keep a cruel balance among them. Can you identify any clear leader among them? Will this unholy trinity last? What might keep them from going for each other's throat?

No. No. Not sure.

09. We are now introduced to all 3 Londons. If you could live in any of them which would you choose?

Red.

10. Kell has the bad habit of carrying trinkets from one London to the next. Is the law against it reasonable? What are your thoughts on the package the woman gave him?

Yes. I think it is trouble.
35559 A Darker Shade of Magic DQs
Day 1: Jan 2
Chapters I – II Read Royal, pages 1 - 57

Q1. Kell has a very interesting Jacket. Have you read a story before that has items of clothing like his? If so what story does it remind you of?

No, not exactly.

Q2. Going between worlds, multiple Londons with names of colors to distinguish them, the year 1819. Are you able to keep track of Kell’s travels? To keep up with the world building?

So far, yes.

Q3. Kell is an Antari (Blood Magic), a dying breed, one of the rare few that can do magic. Kell used his special coins and his blood to travel between worlds. Do you think he is a blood mage? Or does he have a darker kind (shade) of magic since he uses his blood? Or is it just part of Antari training?

I am not sure. I don't know much about magical worlds. They really haven't explained much in these first two chapters.

Q4. How do you feel about the Collectors and the Enthusiasts?

The same as Kell right now.

Q5. Are you enjoying the book so far?

Yes, it is reading fast and the story is interesting.

35559 Hopefully will finish Hot Chocolate by tomorrow.

I added chapters, audiobook length and if audiobook had a famous narrator to the books still listed on the BOOKS READ page. Is there any other info that would help with goals that would be helpful to list?

35559 Unfortunately the 3 short HP books are under the word count requirement for the Tower Challenge but still count for your reading challenge. I have been having to google search "word count" and the title of the book (or play) to make sure the word count is high enough to count for the Tower Challenge for shorter books. If you are not worried about word count, I would suggest audiobooks of plays or getting free or cheap short stories from tor.com

35559 I don't see "hands are tied" in any of my latest books but it looks like the spreadsheet is being worked on so I cannot see all my books under my name or whether they have been used for a goal or not.
