It is okay just leave it. Next time just let me know. I hardly ever give up on a book especially if it is for a challenge. I definitely have a competitive spirit and will read books to help a team challenge even if it is something I don’t usually read.
We have till the 15th correct? I will finish my last book for the mini most likely tomorrow.

35559 I finished my book for authors initials in Hercules , but when I went to place the date someone took my spot. I don't mind but I would like to have known. I was reading this book for this challenge. I would have dnf if I had know my spot was gone. So if you erase information and take a spot please let the person know. Many are like me and read for the challenge.

35559 @Nick I read Question Not My Salt

I liked it , I don’t know what that says about me. It was gruesome and what a Thanksgiving dinner. Many horror books are not well written , but this one was.

35559 DQs – Day 3 Protective Impulses-Pert Thing

11. What do you think about the revelation in the garden/the haunting? Did you see it coming, and do you think there are others involved with the “curse”?

I was pretty sure there was a curse, so not surprised.

12. What do you think about Mr. Rochester sending away Jane and the staff? If you have read the original, how does this change Jane’s agency, and do you like the change? Either way, why do you think the author made it Mr. Rochester’s choice?

I haven’t read the original in a long time so I can’t really compare. I am so tired of weak girls/women in stories. I think this is why I like mysteries or science fiction. Women detectives are usually not weak…..lol

13. Have you ever visited an Apothecary’s Garden? Would you be interested in seeing one? Do you grow any herbs or are you interested in growing any?

I haven't visited one. I do garden and grow several herbs: rosemary, thyme, basil, lemon basil (my favorite), sage, cilantro (love)

14. What do you think about the scene with Miss Ingram? What does this tell you about Mr. Rochester’s character and did that seem consistent with his character so far? Did his explanation make sense to you?

This scene was confusing to me and so his explanation didn’t make sense to me.

I confess I am bored to death with this book. I guess retellings are not for me.
35559 Day 2 - Baneful-"My Own Wee Thing”

6. Jane gives Rochester a black-coloured thumb-sized stone to keep with him as a protective talisman. Do you believe in talismans? Please tell us about an object that you keep with you as a talisman?
I really don’t believe or have a talisman.

7. Between some of the chapters narrated from Jane’s point of view, we get chapters from Rochester’s point of view. What do you think of these “interludes”? Do they help or distract?

I am enjoying these interludes. It is helping me get through the book

8. We are introduced to Dr. Poole. What did you think of this character particularly with regards to Jane meeting him in the poison garden? Were there any changes in your opinion after reading Agnes’ conversation with Jane about the late Mrs. Rochester?

Meeting him in the poison garden? How can you not be suspicious of Dr. Poole

9. We have been told several times about a curse on Thornfield. Then Jane follows Rochester to the graveyard where his family members are buried. At this point Jane says “This was a story of heartache. Everyone in Mr. Rochester’s family had died before their time, especially the females. Then his wife had done the same.” Do you think there is a connection between the curse and the early deaths?

Oh there is definitely curse.

10. We have been given information about Jane and her origin? What do you think of this twist in the tale?

Guessed it!
35559 DQs - Day 1 - Prologue-Blackthorn

1. A paranormal retelling?? of Jane Eyre - this prompts the question about the original or let's call it the "source for inspiration". What is your relationship to Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë? Have you read it? Loved/liked/disliked it?
Read it in high school which was ages ago, don’t remember much.
I don’t remember if I liked it or not.

2. What about Retellings? Is it a genre you like/avoid?
I don’t usually seek them out. I am reading this purely for points…

3. Jane Aire as a witch in a school for orphan witches? How do you like the setting of this alternative Victorian world where magic is at least tolerated?
It seems like it will be very interesting. I do like witch stories

4. What are your first impressions of Jane and Rochester?
I like both these characters

5. What do you think about the occurrences in Thornfield? Are they really caused by supernatural elements or is it human action?
Definitely supernatural. I love the Thornfield name!

35559 Almost finished with Hunger Games… I have a couple of books that I have to read for another challenge, sure I can find something that works for this challenge..
35559 Part three

The ending is very weak.. I now know why I gave it only 3 stars. It feels like the author rushed the ending .She may have had the second book written and didn’t know where to end this one and begin the other. Anyone else feel this?
35559 Part Two

Rue- Even I knew this was coming it still got me emotional.

I didn’t remember the tracker bees. I was cringing during this scene!!
