That’s great I’m hoping to have an E and a W finished before deadline. We can move things around as needed to get as much of the final word completed as possible.

Day 2 DQ's– Chapters 20 – 386 We have got a fair way into the book now and my first question is to ask how you feel about it? What do you like / dislike about it
I like it so far. I like how we are still none the wiser as to what is happening.
7. What are your impressions about the time line from Marius to Kristine to Laura?
Not quite sure.
8. Hess and Thulin are not necessarily bosom buddies How do you see their differing working methods and relationship developing?
I think they will grate on each other but ultimately make a good team.
9. Hess insists on visiting Magnus Kjaer and showing him some photographs. What do you think is the significance of "The chestnut man" being something new?
It is meant to send a message to the authorities, possibly as a previous failure.
10. Erik Sejer Lassen is arrested - there is a lot going on during the chase - How do you read the events leading up to the arrest and during the questioning?
I thought he was the Chestnut Man, but I suspect it may be a woman
With a mix of short and longish books we should be able to do well here.I can cover any of the series numbers, this is what I have immediately to hand. What I have to hand:
#3
324pgs#16
176pgs#17
210pgs#25
432pg
This mini challenge is going to need some co-ordinating and commitment. If we can aim to make a 15-21 step ladder that would give us up to 70 extra points. As each book needs to be finished after the previous one we need to know what you can read.

Week 8 - Mini ChallengeGluttony Mini Challenge
For this mini-challenge, your team is going to try to read higher and higher numbers in series. In other words, you're going to build a ladder of books from series, starting with the lowest and going as high as you can get.
However, they need to be finished consecutively. #3 cannot be finished before #1, and #10 cannot be finished before #6. You may skip numbers on your way up, but you cannot read for a number that is lower than the one that has been read previously. The ladder only goes up, not down.
◈ Only books finished between 25th November and 2nd December will count for the Gluttony mini challenge (i.e. books finished in week 8).
◈ Books will either count towards the main part of the challenge (the Seven Deadly Sins) or towards this mini challenge.
◈ It needs to be clearly visible on GoodReads which # in the series the book is.
◈ For books that are part of a sub-series (e.g. Discworld titles) we will be using the information on the book's main page. e.g. The Wee Free Men is #30 in the Discworld series, not #1 in the Tiffany Aching sub series
◈ Only whole number entries allowed (no in-between .1s).
◈ Books need to be finished in order.
◈ One ladder per team.
◈ You will gain 5 points per book in the ladder.
◈ As each ladder gains 3 rungs you will receive a bonus 10 points.

Day 1 DQs1. At the very beginning we are hit with a chilling image and as Officer Marius is descending into the basement looking for one of the little girls he "...becomes aware of the room. Glancing around, he realizes what it's been used for. He's disgusted." What do you think this room was used for?
Possibly a room where someone had been tortured.
2. We get brief look at what happens to Laura before Thulin and Hess get called out to the scene. While looking over the body and the garden Thulin notices a chestnut doll and has an odd reaction to it. "It's a simple doll consisting of two spheres and four sticks, but briefly, for some reason she can't explain, it makes Thulin's heart stop." Why do you think she had a strong reaction? Could it be a repressed memory?
Thulin seems very independent, the sight of the chestnut doll definitely triggered some sort of memory.
3. Speaking of Thulin and Hess. I'm a bit put off by the both of them. Thulin seems to think homicide is boring and Hess just seems to not give a flying rat's behind about anything. What do you think of our MCs so far?
I like both character’s Thulin doesn’t feel appreciated i he role, Nylander needs to do something about this. Hess has obviously been demoted and is waiting for something better.
4. Then we have Rosa and Steen, the parents of Kristine who is missing and presumed dead. They each have a different way of handling their grief. Rosa has thrown herself into her work as a politician and Steen is drowning his sorrows in alcohol. As a parent it's really hard to imagine losing a child. How do you think you would handle losing your child? Do you think their reactions are typical for parents who have lost a child?
Everyone deals with unexpected grief differently, and how it’s handled as a family unit can make or break that family.
5. Do you think Kristine Hartung is still alive? Or is it a cruel joke being played on her parents? Why or why not?
Not sure, I’d like to believe she is.
