Our monsters seem to swarm

Scylla



Scylla has been spotted close to your shores and endangering ships heading for the harbor. Very hard to defeat and best to avoid if possible, is very touchy when Circe is mentioned.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 500 and 650 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book with a body of water on the cover.
3.) Read a book that features a sacrifice of some type (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book that features a sorceress.
5.) Read a book whose title contains the word "FIRE".

We have completed another monster - Polyphemus waiting for a new monster to be spun.

It seems there’s a whole pack of them out there


Minotaur



The Minotaur has been seen on your lands, frolicking through fields and enjoying freedom for the first time. If you manage to defeat him, you will spend the rest of your life wondering how you survived. Don't forget some rope!


To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book 800 pages or longer.
2.) Read a book where the MC gets lost.
3.) Read a book with a map in it.
4.) character described as "bull-headed" or "hard-headed".
5.) Read a book with a Goodreads rating of 4.0 or higher.

Mares of Diomedes



The Mares of Diomedes are galloping through your lands and nibbling on villagers as they go. They may require only moderate effort to defeat, but don't underestimate them. The Four Horsemen's horses give them wide berth.

To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 200 and 299 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book with fire on the cover.
3.) Read a book where a character gets poisoned (food poisoning is acceptable, does not have to be fatal).
4.) Read a book whose title contains all the letters of HERA.
5.) Read a book with a Goodreads rating between 3 and 3.5 (inclusive).

Hi Robin if you are referring to your question here Vicky has already clarified that it works.

Any queries with regards to book qualifications should at first be resolved within the team. If no consensus can be reached we can take it to the Captains thread for a decision where their decision is final.

I have found a book set in Africa, with a cat and plains on the cover Edge of the Rain getting the image updated with the correct audio cover

Turns out that my Cat-shifter book isn’t actually set in Africa, the Africa that is referenced is journal entries. But it does have hard-headed in there

Hi Robin I hid everything with a read date of before this mini started so that we could easily see what books are available for this current mini. To view the hidden rows you can “unhide”, look for the arrow and highlight the row and right click to bring up available options; if on the app press and hold to bring up various editing options.
