And we are currently in 2nd place. 🎉🎉

• The most time consuming part was creating meals from long lists of ingredients. (Note to self don’t leave it til last minute to update and eat first 😂)
• To make it easier things like soups and stews can’t be used in the challenge. So no need to track these although if it is specified as something like tomato soup or beef stew the beef and tomato are ingredients that can be tracked.
• Page counts impact what dish the book can be used in.
50 - 160pgs - fresh dishes (fish/chips; sandwiches; salad; tea; coffee
161 -500pgs - fresh or frozen dishes (Fresh & curry; quiche;pasta)
501pgs and more - Any dish (fresh; frozen & desserts; alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks)
When tracking near these page counts in mind a chocolate milkshake although tasty can’t be used if the book is less than 500 pages or less. Although a chocolate based sandwich is a firm favorite.
• We are limited on the number of ingredients we can use from a book depending on length.
up to 2 >50 pages and <=160 pages
up to 4 >161 and <=300 pages
up to 8 >301 pages and <=500 pages
up to 12 >501 pages
An ingredient can be used as many times as it appears in the book or on the cover.
• Fish & chips with vinegar remains our priority but we need to make more frozen meals for round 2.
• Our book limit for Round 2 is 90

Children - 27
Teenagers - 40
Adults - 52
Pensioners - 41
We only have 33 dishes that we can serve to Teenagers we definitely need to trade 2 pesky teens for adults. That would give us 38 teens 5 will go hungry. We have plenty fish and chips and sandwiches for the other customers . At a quick glance if we keep the alcohol until next round our only fresh wastage will be 3 salads.

So that's a general thumbs down to banana in curry t..."
Bananas in curry can be quite tasty a lot of the curry houses sell it over here marketed as Malayan Curry. I am not a big lover of fruit and other than bananas and strawberries I generally only eat them when cooked in a sweet or savoury dish.

19. Cordelia and James end up in the Shadow Realm and are under attack by a Mandecore (sp?) on the bidding of Belial (sp?). Cordelia is able to strike once with the sword, but then is caught up in the vines. James calls on his power from his demon heritage to save them both. What do you think his use of this power will do to him in the long run? Will he suffer from it, or want more of it?
I think he is going to struggle to get a balance, quite possibly he will need to face and overcome a struggle over this power
20. The Harrondales find out they are descendants of a Prince of Hell, Belial. They all have different reactions. What would you do if you found out you were a descendant of someone/something evil?
I'd probably freak and then look to see that I don't take after them.
21. When they are with the enclave and James is being accused of starting the fire, Cordelia steps up to cover for James. By doing this she is putting herself in harms way in terms of future prospects. James proposes to Cordelia, but says he doesn't love her...but we know she loves him. What do you think about going into a marriage with unrequited love? Or do you think it is unrequited?
We get glimpses of how James feels for Cordelia but they are pushed aside when the bracelet comes into play. Hopefully the bracelet will become less of an influence.
22. "Perhaps life was not like books. Perhaps life was never going to be like that." I love this quote. If your life could be like a book, what book would you choose?
Not sure really.
23. In the Epilogue, we find that Tatiana seems to be working with the Prince of Hell. What do you think will happen in the next book in the series? Are you interested in continuing on with this series?
I really enjoy the shadowhunter world and will definitely continue the series.

6. Following the daylight attack, and the greenhouse scene, it's clear that there's a tension between the older generation and the younger. Will even makes the point that it's just like what he experienced as a young man, but doesn't seem able to fix the problem. What do you think about the politics of the Shadowhunters that we've seen so far? Does this strand work for you?
This is consistent with the Shadowhunter world and draws a parallel with the real world when politics are involved.
7. We see development in some of the characters over these chapters (Alistair becomes a bit more interesting in the final flashback; Cordelia comes out of her shell), but there are still a lot of unfleshed characters there (imo). Do you think the author can make all these characters "real"? Which character do you most want to find out more about? or just hang out with ;-P
I've finished the book so know the character development so far in the trilogy. Although no doubt there is more to come.
8. We find out more about Grace and James - have your opinions of this relationship changed during this section? Do you want to venture any predictions? James does his shadow walking thing a couple of times here. Is Jem right - is this a skill he should master or is it a dangerous curse?
At this point of the book I was suspicious of Grace.
9. The last section sheds some light on Alistair's hidden (or developing) personality - moving him from the simple bully from school to (maybe) someone more interesting. Do you have any thoughts on how Alistair will be important to the story?
Already finished the book.
