Not quite defeated it would seem. 😔
Polyphemus (Cyclops)

Polyphemus has been seen on your lands, searching for a new optometrist. Maybe he can be pacified with a good recommendation for an in-network doctor. Very hard to kill but can be distracted with sheep. He loves his sheep. Also, might distract him by discussing what a complete dink Ulysses really is despite his fame.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book between 500 and 650 pages (inclusive).
2.) Read a book that takes place on an island.
3.) Read a book where a character engages in some sort of trickery (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with sheep AND people on the cover.
5.) Read a book whose MC is a farmer.

Got sidetracked yesterday so this is a little late.

Monster Mini
We have officially vanquished 14 monsters, will update overnight books and see where we are.
Supergroup Mini
Head on over to our Mythics team to participate in Trojan Warships This will be run at a slower pace than the Maze and is Genre based. Books for this mini cannot be started until July 1st 9pm UK time.
Challenge Stats
We are currently in 8th place overall and are ahead in the number of books read.
Book Points: 10856 (7th place)
BOM Points: 520 (3rd place)
Total Points: 12,601
Books Read: 343
Pages Read: 121,198
We are currently at 116% of our cap, as Vicky pointed out other teams are keeping a separate low scoring book tab. We will keep monitoring this and adjust. With monsters to kill that low scoring book may be the one we need.

@Stacey can you add how the your book works for #5 on the mini planning sheet.

Charybdis

Charybdis has been spotted close to your shores and endangering ships heading for the harbor. If you manage to defeat this monster be prepared to answer "how are you still alive" every time you tell the story. The monster is interested in helping you reach your childhood dream of finding what's in Davy Jones's Locker.
To vanquish this monster you must:
1.) Read a book 800 pages or longer.
2.) Author's name (first or last) starts with one of the letters in POOL.
3.) Read a book where the MC is forced to make a hard choice (your interpretation).
4.) Read a book with "fig" in the title or text.
5.) Read a book where the characters take a boat trip (of any type).

Just wanted to point out that Lingus works for MC gets lost"
Let me go and update

I keep looking at my physical bookshelves saying I really need to organize and sell/donate the ones I’ve read to open up space but the thought makes me cringe.
@Vicky shame that it isn’t a one monster book, in answer Erin’s question it’s a British saying to describe a person as confused or muddled.
@Erin Just caught up on stateside events, surprised that this hasn’t been picked up by our media channels. I fear for the repercussions this will have on women’s health and emotional well-being.

It’s back

Give me a few minutes

You sure did, that would be an acceptable variation

If someone beats me to it, feel free and can bank for a future island or something."
We have one in the bank for pg counts.

Defeated with banked books

That’s ok, can you add Soulbound to your TT shelf please.

Mares of Diomedes

The Mares of Diomedes are galloping through your lands and nibbling on villagers as they go. They may require only moderate effort to defeat, but don't underestimate them. The Four Horsemen's horses give them wide berth.
