I wonder if you wouldn’t need to feed it clean for a few days before slaughter like possum. Which I haven’t eaten, but possum is traditionally captured live and corn fed for a few days before slaughter where I’m from.

11. What do you think about the revelation in the garden/the haunting? Did you see it coming, and do you think there are others involved with the “curse”?
12. What do you think about Mr. Rochester sending away Jane and the staff? If you have read the original, how does this change Jane’s agency, and do you like the change? Either way, why do you think the author made it Mr. Rochester’s choice?
13. Have you ever visited an Apothecary’s Garden? Would you be interested in seeing one? Do you grow any herbs or are you interested in growing any?
14. What do you think about the scene with Miss Ingram? What does this tell you about Mr. Rochester’s character and did that seem consistent with his character so far? Did his explanation make sense to you?

Or how about rope as a weapon?"
Both would work for me

Thanks, that is a good catch. I removed both books. I think Judith and I both missed the 4 letter rule with everything else getting set up.

Just finished it and my least favorite of Faulkner's that I have read. I did switch to audio for part, so thank you.

Word count comes in at 45,000 verified (https://www.arbookfind.co.uk/bookdeta...) so yes you can

I found two from Columbia I might read (I read It Would Be Night in Caracas before). Now to see if the library has them: The Sound of Things Falling and Fruit of the Drunken Tree

I was hoping for a lot more from this, but in the end it was just ok."
Bummer, I physically own that book. I still will read it though since I bought it fairly recently. (The physical copy was cheaper than the ebook).

Please note that many/some of these books are tagged if some of the book takes places there and not necessarily 50%, so it is good to check before you start reading. For instance, Circe does not take place anywhere near 50% in Crete

Panama: https://thebambootraveler.com/books-o...
Colombia: https://envoys.com/schools/blog/10-co... or https://heyimreading.com/2021/12/28/p...
Venezuela: I could not find a good list but books with Caracas in the title are a good start, such as It Would Be Night in Caracas
Also, there is a group with book lists from each country is Latin America that may be helpful : https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

Book set in Crete or Idaho must at least be set there 50% or more of the book. Check books from the following links but might be a good starting point:
1. Crete - https://www.travellingbookjunkie.com/... or https://www.tripfiction.com/ten-great...
2. Idaho - https://bookglow.net/10-must-read-boo...
I'll be back with more - Peru, Panama, Colombia or Venezuela (or combination of them to reach the 50%)
