The Edge is the only series by Ilona Andrews I haven't read and now when I finally read the first book, On the Edge, I can only say - why the hell it took me so long.
There are some authors whose writing style is just right for you and that's the thing between Ilona Andrews and me. I love her humor, how she mixes up paranormal and urban elements, her snarky kick-ass heroines and the slow-burn banter-full romance.
On the Edge can be read as a standalone, the next book will be about different couple. I hope I will like them as much as this one. I can't wait to read it and learn more about the world.

And yes of course it's not in my previously listed books. lol
I love Ilona Andrews and this is her only series I didn't read so... :)

I like Katie MacAlister, but as you said Daffodil, you had to be in the right mood for her humor.
Daffodil, I can't help you with your choice, since I haven't read most of those series.

But none of them attracts me... *sigh* I'll see how my mood is when I finish my current read...

After enjoying the first book and adoring the thrill and romance of second book, I was hesitant to read Heir of Fire. People called it different, some were bored, they said that the romance was not there...
After I finished reading Heir of Fire, I can say that I see what all the fuss was about. Heir of Fire is different: more mature, more like adult fantasy. In some ways it feels like a intro to a cool new fantasy series with a lot of new povs, new awesome characters and dragons.
I enjoyed it and will continue reading this series.

In msg 92 you said you'd finished your green book and would post your review later. Did I miss it? Let me know if I did."
No you did miss it. I forgot to post a review. Oooops :D
I'll write right now. :)

This series keeps getting better and better. Sadly it also has less and less humor, but I can live with that.
The plot and characters got more depth. And the romance is such a slow burn... Almost not there, but it is also there. In each glance between Meg and Simon, every thought every missed touch. Knowing Anne Bishop, they will get their HEA in the last book but it will be worth the wait. :)
I expected something bigger to happen in the end, comparing to previous books that had some cataclysmic collapse, this one had pretty tame ending.
But I am intrigued with all the restriction for humans that are announced and that will be implemented in the next book. It will definitely be full of tension.
And we need to wait one year for the sequel. :(

Yeah, I noticed this series when I was blown away with cover for book#2

Why is picking the next book to read so hard?

BTW I finished my green book, but I am feeling lazy. I'll write a review soon, since it's not bingo-deciding. :)
