Oh, okay, gotcha. Thanks 😊

I'm surprised they ever allowed you to download KU books outside of your Kindle (or other device). I view those similarly to library loaners, but I gotta pay for them -- like a rental, I guess. 😝

I could see my book files when I connected my kindle to my laptop. They're .kfx files. I think I read Calibre has a plugin, if you're looking to do anything with them.

I've just got too many books @ Amazon to spend the rest of the week trying to free my purchases from them. I'd never rescue them all. Nah, I'll just go about as usual and find a way to deal with any issues I have if/when I ever leave Kindle/Amz readers.

Sorry, but what do you mean by “tell Amazon”?

I’m glad.

33903 Libby offers reading on Libby app and/or kindle. Shame it’s not open to other readers.

33903 😆 ditto!

I 💕 my library!

33903 👍🏼 Thx for the update.
33903 Amyiw wrote: "That doesn't look like my Amazon "Content and Devices" book page. Do you live in the US or outside. Maybe they already disabled it for some countries? They disabled it for KU books a couple years back."

Yeah, that's from my "content & devices" page. I am in the US. I read they disabled the USB feature on v12 Kindles, but I think I still have a v11. Haven't double checked that though. I looked through my C&D list, at a lot of different purchased books as well as $0 purchases, and I have no "transfer via USB" option. So, I don't guess I'll be able to save any to my ExHD.

Like Kateblue, I'm resigning myself to it - they all reside permanently @ Amz. I'll just fret about it, I'm sure, if I ever switch to a different reader and wanna re-read something I've bought but can't get to any longer. I'll have to hope my library stocks it, if that happens.

33903 My husband and I liked Severance and will watch S2 once it's finished. We're not much for the week-to-week and prefer to binge shows once all the episodes have been released. With Severance, we may re-watch S1 prior to 2 so we remember where it left off.

I read some of Hugh's WOOL (The Wool Trilogy ) many yrs ago and I think the show does a good job. I didn't read his continuation with DUST and SILO, and as I've mentioned elsewhere, I'm bad about reading after I've watched the show. We like the show though and enjoyed it more when we could jump from one to the next without the wait. Some eps of S2 were a bit slow though.

Other Apple shows I liked were:
- The Morning Show (on-going)
- Ted Lasso (ended) <-- cute, feel-good
- Masters of the Air (mini-series) <-- very good
- Loot (kinda cute; on-going)
- Bad Monkey (okay, on-going, I think)
- Drops of Gold (ended, but I think it was resurrected for a new season) <-- very good
- Sugar (on-going) <-- fun twist
- Servant (ended) <-- so weird, but not bad; some seasons better than others
- Shining Girls (ended) <-- meh; disappointment
- Swagger (?) <-- don't like basketball, so didn't watch, but my nephew has a part in it 😁
- Lessons in Chemistry (ended) <-- really good
- Foundation (on-going) <-- not bad
- Bad Sisters (on-going) <-- love the actresses, but they frustrate me; laugh throughout though
- Black Bird (mini series) <-- very good
- Silo (on-going) <-- well done lit rep
- Slow Horses (on-going) <-- like
- Shrinking (on-going) <-- like, more b/c of the actors, I think
- For all Mankind (on-going) <-- really like
- Before (on-going?) <-- okay; love Billy Crystal tho
- Disclaimer (mini series) <-- liked okay
- Presumed Innocent (mini series) <-- meh; loved the movie, not so much the show
- Manhunt (mini series) <-- liked
- Criminal Record (on-going) <-- liked
- Constellation (ended) <-- meh
- Hijack (ended) <-- disappointing, but Idris 😏
- The Big Door Prize (ended?) <-- not bad
- Echo 3 (ended) <-- bleh
- Shantaram (ended) <-- liked, and Charlie Hunnam 😏
- Mosquito Coast (ended) <-- okay
- The Shrink Next Door (ended) <-- sad story, but liked
- Invasion (ended?) <-- so disappointing

Damn. I didn't realize I'd watched so many Apple+ shows 😆 Can ya tell I'm a couch potato when I'm not buried in a book?
33903 Hey Amyiw, sorry my OCD is demanding a shift of our discussion to another thread 😆 So, it's now here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I was going to add Murderbot but it is above there somewhere. What series did you dislike on Apple and are there any that you liked? I kind of like Severance. My husband watched it and I watched along (mostly) in the first season. I'm really bad and watching with undivided attention as I always have my eReader on hand. :-) Movies can keep my attention more as it isn't episode to episode and watch "Fly Me to the Moon" and actually thought it was a great take on the conspiracy of the moon landing. It was definitely fun. I started watching Silo but couldn't take the slow episode to episode then - week to week pace. He is still completely sucked in. I figure I might read the books as it is only a day or two for each but haven't really had the push.

33903 War Games (Jacky Leon #11) by K.N. Banet
My review for the latest book. No spoilers. I loved it, of course!

“Things that haunt a person will always haunt you. You have to have the power to face them because only then can you overcome them.”

Jacky's suffering under the guilt of her past actions, even when they helped those she loves. In this installment, which is a bit different from those previous, she's forced to face the guilt-laden actions she taken as well as the hurtful actions done to her and try to finally move past them.

As always, I thoroughly enjoyed returning to Jacky's story. I really enjoyed all of the different POVs, which we don't normally get to this extent. I, once again, find myself anxiously awaiting the next installment. Thankfully, my GR group (SOS) is re/reading this series throughout the year, so I'll be spending time with Jacky and her growing family all year long. 😊

Author's series note: There’s only 4 books left after this one and everything through the last few have been very important to what comes next. Book #12 @ July 2025

True. Thanks, LaurLa, good info.
