Trista bounded lightly over the stage and reounded off a metal box and somersaulted half way across the stage. She landed easily and bowed. "Thank you all!" She ran off the stage.
"You were grand! Exacellent!" The head master commented behind her.
Trista turned around, panting. "Thank you. I have to go now. Can I have the money now?" She asked, the words barely escaping her.
He nodded and handed her a wad of what counted up to be a hundered dollars wound together with a ruber band.
She accepted the money grate fully when her phone rang. She answered it.
"Yes? Hello?" She asked.
"Are you Trista?" Asked a familiar voice over the phone.
Principal Whiteman.
"Yes. Yes, I am." She answered.
"Your daughter-"
"Sister."
"Really?"
"Yes. I know I'm late but-"
"Late?"
"I'm a senior there."
"Oh..."
"Well?"
"Oh, yes. Your sister is in the nurse's office. I suggest you-"
"I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Good."
She slammed down her flip phone and stuffed it in her pocket.
"I have to go." She mumbled to the head master.
He nodded curtly in understanding and went on his way.
Trista dragged herself and Tracks into the car and sped away, her foot pressing firmly on the excellerator.
Crystal's eyes fluttered open. She tried to prop herself up, only to get a sickening dizzy feeling and plop back down on the nurse's bed.
"Wh-where..." She stuttered, her voice faltering after a single word of speech.
The nurse whipped around in slow-motion and shuffled at the speed of a turtle over to Crystal.
She eyed her carefully before nodded. "Yup, you're awake alright."
Crystal made an attempt to smile.
"Your sister's on hr way down here." The nurse whispered like a granny, her white-gray hair waving at Crystal.
Crystal's eyes widened. "Wha.." She started.
"Yup." The nurse sounded so sure of herself.
The nurse, Nurse Camile, was toothpick skinny with hair the color of mild storm clouds. She was old. Her lips were a peach pink and her eyes were as green as a turtle's shell.
Crystal sighed roughly. "Great." She rolled her eyes.
Nurse Camile wouldn't stop smiling. She simply nodded and granny stepped it back to her desk where she continued to scribble down notes for the two other snotty kids in the room.
Crystal poked Mariah. Mariah ignored her."Mariah?" Crstal asked.
"Yeah, so? What's it to ya?" She snorted.
"It's me, Crystal." Crystal looked at her, innocent and confused,
"Leave me alone." Mariah sneered.
"Why are acting this way, Mariah? We have been best friends since like...the 7th grade." She pressed harder.
Mariah tossed her head back and let out a ssimple chuckle. "Who said I was your friend, you Fraud?"
Crystal cocked her head and opened her mouth to say something.
Mariah whipped her hand back and slapped it over Crystal's mouth. She turned dantily around. "Now listen here, Crys. I know you faked the you home robbery just get attention. It's so simple to figure out. Now, step out of my spotlight and get your own seat, Nitwit."
Crystal ripped Mariah's hand from her mouth. "I thought you were-!"
"Your friend, I know. I was, until you dragged the attention toward you. So, get over it! Grow up! Leave me alone!" Mariah screamed in a low bass voice.
Crystal nodded curtly, her soft eyes glowed with anger.
Maria looked all the amused.
Crystal growled, "Traitor. You'll never be anyone's friend." She stomped her foot on top of Mariah's neon yellow flipflops. She twisted her foot, crushing and chipping the hot pink nail polish that was engraved on her nails.
Mariah cried out helplessly in pain, leaping up and slamming her head into Crystal's.
Crystal stepped back and felt dizzy. She slid back against a desk and fell, head first, onto the floor behind her, slamming her forehead on a desk in the process.
"Mmmmm..."She groaned and everything faded.
Trista pulled into the parking lot of the county fair and hopped out of the car with Tracks behind her on a leash that read '911 Stay Away From Dog'.
"Ready Boy?" Trista asked Tracks.
Tracks barked in return.
Trista nodded and walked into the fair.
