That's one of my all time favorites! Definately keep at it! Did you ever see the mini-series they did on it?
30887 Having now finished the book I have to agree with Foxfire. It was well written, and I enjoyed the first 1/2- 3/4. I liked reading about the different relationships she had with the people in the hospital and with her parents, and of course learning more about synethesia. Its when she left the hospital and the book took a turn towards the paranormal that it lost me. This may be more about me and the types of books I like to read (Almost NEVER science fiction/paranormal), I just couldn't relate to the characters at that point and what was going on in the story. I felt like it all wrapped up pretty quickly, and at that point I was kind of happy about it!
30887 I'm towards the end. It's turning into something I didn't quite expect. The whole feel of the book has changed and I definately don't like it as much.

30887 I would definately second that suggestion Rebecca! Bel Canto is a great book and a favorite of mine.
