A little trick to this issue of books sometimes not showing as free...go to where it says formats, see the kindle? it has a little + sign next to it. Click that and it will drop down another kindle item which is free. Its just a trick, dunno why, but something to check when you dont see it for free.

I tried what they suggested and sure enough! A book that was showing $1.99 was actually free because there was a second kindle edition that was hidden.
