One of the books read to me as a child was the Chronicles of Narnia. I loved hearing this book read aloud because, at the time, I was swept away by the sense of adventure the children were experiencing. I was also captivated by the magical world where there were new rules to define society, interpersonal interactions, and views of children. Reading this book was a magical time where I could let my imagination take me to another world guided by the author but completely envisioned by me.
