Hello,I don't know of any site that features a "children's review of literature," but the idea is fascinating. I don't think it would be too difficult to develop something like that. If there are no legal ramifications, you might also invite and include YouTube videos/podcasts of the child reviewing various books.
Check with public librarians or their professional associations about any sites that are targeted to parents for the selection of literature for their children.
Good luck and let me know if you create the child reviewer site so I can refer teachers and their students to it.
As a girl in grade school I was very caught up in the Nancy Drew mystery series. I liked the idea that I could collect the books and read so many books in a relative short amount of time. I guess I liked the notion of accomplishment. I also admired Nancy's adventurism...She seemed so smart and sohisticated...and that convertable she drove was so cool! I wanted to be like her when I grew up.The first book, however, that really intrigued my mind and made me wonder was Wrinkle in Time. I read this book in the 7th grade and remember feeling so grown-up reading about ideas I had never considered before.
Geysell,Once a teacher knows what her students are reading and how that reading impact their lives, how would she use this information to improve teaching and learning?
We want your creative ideas about using this site. How can we use this site to improve teaching and learning?
