def like ashley's comment especially about the princesses going against what their parents said because they knew things had to change. I never really looked at the story that way but it's true, without their willingness to go for what they wanted they would be stuck and unhappy.
I totally agree with ashley that it's books can be very memorable when teacher's are excited about the books they read to their class. Doing funny voices for each character is probably the best way of keeping student's involved with the story.
I agree with everyone. I believe that this is a good site for a teacher and students. The teacher is able to get a better understanding about his/her student's interests and the students can explore all sorts of books. Looking at books my peers have recommended has been really helpfull for me.
lol.. michelle's comment is funny. I don't know what character i relate to.. I know that when i was little i felt like i was a lil princess haha.. i really thought i was like cinderella when my mom made me wash the dishes or do some chores :).
that sounds interesting, i def want to check out that book! i know i'm going to need some tips as a future teacher :)
I guess i've learned recently to take each day at a time because life can be really hectic at times and if you let everything come at you at once...well your day can become overwhelming!
HEllo! My name is serena sedillo and i'm so exhausted with finals this week lol.. Well i'm 20yrs old and am also in the teacher trac program. I am becoming even more excited to be a teacher after doing my 40yrs of fieldwork.:) I hope to transfer by next fall to cal state long beach. I'm also a waitress working basically full time which has made this semester extremely more difficult. I plan to read this summer and relax!
Hmm.. well i guess my favorite fictional character would have to be one of disney's princesses because i would read their stories and watch the movies religiously. I really liked princess Ariel, it's funny cuz i even named my sister's middle name after her. I loved how she went after what she wanted :)
As a child I loved reading the little red hen. I remember my mom and I taking turns doing the characters voices. I also really liked the idea of working together and helping one another. My favorite part was when the hen and the chicks were enjoying their nice warm loaf of bread that they made together while the others who did not want to help out, were watching with regret lol.
hmm.. well i haven't read any books recently but a book i read in highschool that i really enjoyed was the summer sisters by judy blume. It's a real coming of age story of two girls totally opposite from one another becoming friends and going to a summer cottage together every summer. They go through complex issues such as betrayal, love and happiness. They grow up before your eyes and as a girl i was able to relate to them.
