Hi all, I wonder if Paula will be on Idol tonight or tomorrow. What do you think?
Susanna wrote: "Savannah is wonderful, well worth a trip (like Charleston).
My morning doesn't start until I have a Diet Coke. (I like my caffeine cold and bubbly.) Don't drink coffee, as I would put far to muc..."That is so funny Savannah. My older sister is a cold caffeine drinker. She won't even drink hot tea.

It is a little scarry for me. When my oldest son moved I was heart broken. He is the funny one in our family. It really was quiet here and I really missed him. My younger one is hardly home anymore. He is my lazy boy. I am really kind of burnt out picking up after him. He is a great kid and more on the quiet side but he can be a slob.

Are there any empty nesters out there? I am getting very close to being one. My youngest is 22 and is planning on moving soon. I feel a little guilty that I am kind of excited for the empty nest.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am excited to get to know all of you. It sounds like you all have busy mornings like I do. Even though I work from home I still need to be up early. It is really nice to see that you all are starting your day discussing what you did the night before or what the plans are for the day. My morning starts with that very 1st cup of heaven, coffee. That is the 1st and only thing I can think of when I wake up. I love flavored coffee creamer. Ahh Life is Good. How about you? What is your heaven when you wake up?

Hi everyone, I have been reading your daily conversations for a while now and thought it would be fun to join in and get to know everyone. That is if you don't mind. My name is Fran and I live in southern California. I work from home as a Technical Recruiter for a staffing service. I have two boys 32 and 22,two grandchildren 2 and 4 and two very sweet Labs Emma and Rosey.

I just finished Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and loved it. Yes, I would also add that one to my comfort read. I also Love, Love, Love, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet. Very Sweet story.

I am reading Emma, my 1st Jane Austen book. I love it so far. I have Northanger Abbey on my to read book shelf but I think I will try PP 1st. It has taken me a bit to get use to her writing style but I am really enjoying it.

My favorites are:
Little Women
The Secret Garden
Pipi Long Stocking
Nancy Drew
The Hardy Boys
Anne of Green Gables
Little House on The Prarie
I recently read The Secret Garden again and loved it.
I Also read Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea recently. It just makes me feel so good to go back to my carefree childhood books.

Thanks, I am only on Chapter 9. I do feel like it is getting a little easier after about 10 minutes in to the book. I guess it just takes a while to get use to the style of writing. And yes Barbara, the movies were really good. Have you seen Becomming Jane? I thought it was really cute.

Hi all, I am reading Emma and I find that I have to read it a bit slower than most books I have read. I am enjoying the book alot. This is the 1st Jane Austin book I have read. Did anyone else feel that way about their 1st experience reading Jane Austin books?

I cant get the names right either. When they get to the top 10 I will start to remember the names.

I have to be honest. I had to look on the Idol website. I cheated.

My boyfriend says the same thing about Alex Lambert. He says he sounds like a young Rod Stewart. I really like him.

Tim Urban is the kid who was brought back on the show He kind fits in with the Jonas Brothers style of music. Alex Lambert is the kid with the mullett. Todrick is the dancer. I think he will be one of the guys that will go home next.

So far my favorites are Crystal, Lily and Sobian. I can't wait to hear what they will do tonight.

Hi Lindsey, sorry I welcomed you by the name of Lisa. I am working today and am trying to do a few things all at one time. So let me try this again. Welcome Lindsey!!!!

Hi Lisa, I am new also and I agree this is a really nice group to be in. I have already picked up on a few books I will have to put into my to read list.
Happy reading

Hi Diane, thanks for the welcome. I noticed you have the Art of Racing in the Rain as one of your favorites. I loved that story. I have 2 Choc. Labs and always wonder what they are thinking. I fell in love with Enzo. He was such a loyal family member. What a beautiful ending.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I am really excited about this group. I can't wait to check out some of your favorite books.
