Gosh NE….lucky you weren’t there! And yes, the news out of Buffalo is awful. Glad to hear that you’re all ok. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and that the new year is kind to us all xo

How are you all surviving the weather bomb in northern parts? The news has been worrying reading.

I just popped in to have a coffee with anyone who might be around but there is a years worth of dust on the benches, cobwebs in the corners and the tap won’t work😓
Congratulations Ken……I have wishlisted your newest anthology and will get it shipped over next week. I will also email you. Kia ora koutou…..hope you are all well and vaxxed…..nga mihi xo

Just read your poem on Ruth’s Facebook page NE......loved it. But more exciting was that there was an audio link to hear you reading it.....that was such a treat! I hope you are all well over there....I worry about you. Stay safe please xo

I’m here Ken.....it’s a great article isn’t it! It’s been shared around a lot on social media. Since I last checked in 4 weeks ago....our confirmed case count has trebled but we are down to literally a handful of new cases a day....5 yesterday, 6 today. We have deaths.....14....all elderly and mostly from rest home clusters. But we are beating this. We move down a level at the beginning of next week....still locked down, but some businesses and schools may reopen under strict conditions. Yes....I’ll be back at school next week, but not school as we know it Jim! Once I know what it looks like and I’ve put in a few days, I’ll report back. One thing I am thrilled about is that my region only had 8 cases....all recovered a week or more ago....Instills a bit of confidence when visiting the supermarket once a week!

I am feeling so lucky to be in my little corner of the earth with a leader like Jacinda (see recent Time cover). We have 450 cases in a population of almost 5mill and no deaths....yet. We are in total lockdown in our homes....allowed to take a short daily walk in our immediate neighbourhood, observing the 2 metre rule....and visit a supermarket, fuel stop or pharmacy(only businesses still open) only if absolutely necessary. I think we may come out of this a lot better than US, UK or Australia. All schools are closed. No recreation or sports at all. This is for 4 weeks....we are in day 3 now. No visiting anybody. I’m isolating on my own....my mum is with my brother and my sister and her kidney transplant hubby hunkered down a few days before the official start. There is a very strong ‘for the common good’ ethic over here....and people and their wellbeing takes precedence over the ‘sacred’ economy.
I’m hoping you all stay safe and come through this alright.

Merry Christmas all......thanks for the kind words about my grandchildren NE❤️
I hope you’re all having a lovely time.....it’s Boxing Day’s end here now.....just about over the leftovers already😆

Hmmmm.....do I still have his email address? I'll try it and see what happens.....

The frustration is not fun. If Goodreads made this platform more user-friendly I would be back.....but it is just too slow and clunky!

I can't even remember the website i used for online pics for here!

So I’m guessing I’d need to fire up my laptop to do it😆😂😂😂

Haha Carol😝😝
I can’t remember how to post a pic here...there’s no camera icon! I just remember it was complex.....
Isabelle is now 5 and at school; her sister Sammie is still a fiery redhead; and my sons daughter Luna is gorgeous and has a great vocab for a 2 year old....when I pinched one of her fries she gave me an old-fashioned look and turned to Carl and said, “Cheeky Grammie”!
I’d love to share pics if someone can tell me how to do it from my iPad!

Oh ffs! ZuckerbErg!🙄😂

That was ‘welcome to L&G’ but I can’t edit my comment once posted.....long live Zuckerburg!

Hey you! Merry you xo
I will be quaffing eggnog whilst admiring the fiery sunset courtesy of the drifting smoke from the Aussie bushfires (yes, the smoke makes it to NZ!).....7million or so acres now burned in NSW alone.....almost 3 million in other states😱. Despite multiple attempts I have been unable to contact Gabi....not answering emails and even an approach to the retirement village she and Trev moved to has yielded no results😓
To my old friends here, Merry Christmas and happy impeachment.....and welcome to L&G if you’ve never met me before😆

Hi there 😊
Popping in briefly to say that I’m slowly getting around you all.....met Gabi five years ago in Sydney.....and met Stamatia (remember her?) in Athens last month. I would post a pic but I don’t think I remember how😂
See you on FB Ruth and Carol......and I’m still waiting for you to find your way back NE!

Sarah Sulzberger......where are you?
