happy to hear your friend is recovering well- As far as Cronkite- I was much more admired Frank Reynolds at ABC- to me the greatest Journelist (yes there were actual journalists who delivered the news back then!) of all time! Reynold's coverage and raw emotion of the Reagan Assassination Attempt ( available on youtube) show a truly great Journalist handling a difficult situation- live on TV without all the beels and whistles of today's news.

Welcome Roy! What a great taste in actors your first love had- wish one of my past girlfriends cared about James Mason..or classic films..but alas no! LOL- maybe why I am still single :>))

25350 I urge all who love great comedy to watch this most wonderful 3 minute youtube video of Stan Laurel's funeral..yes- it is home film of celebrities entering ..to the Chaplin tune..Smile..yet it is so much more- a true tribute to one of the greatest and kindest laughmakers to grace the earth. Stan Laurel- You will long remember this video- it is that wonderful! And watch for the legends who are shown...Buster Keaton, Patsy Kelly,Joe Flynn, Dick Van Dyke (whose voice we hear in beginning and end of video- he idolized Stan and delivered the eulogy), Alan Mowray and Tim Conway.

You have to love the quote from Stan at beginning of video!!!
