excellent point..and quite hypocritical to see "activist" celebs come out and call for gun control laws when they make millions on films that are chock full of guns and mayhem!
so many GREAT books listed here!!! and let's remember..a key tenet of James Mason group is members supporting members!!!

It's actually a very good film, made with a mix of American and British actors. I'm a longt..."I am always a bit put off by films made about folks who are dead and cannot defend themselves. While I do not doubt Ms. Hendren's accounts...Hitch is not around to refute them..Farley Granger had a completely different take on Hitch..loved him and said he was very very funny. I do recall reading that Hitch would pick one actor (usually actress) out of cast to be quite vicious to (Ruth Roman in Strangers on a Train for example) but just not very fond of books or films about famous people...MAINLY due to MOMMIE DEAREST...a horrific account of Joan Crawford that was "written" by a very angry and resentful daughter who was cut out of her will...AFTER Crawford had died. Who knows how much is true and how much is the daughter's (I will not even mention her name)revenge? Yet, a woman who worked her way up from a chorus girl to become one of the great Hollywood stars ofall time is now mainly thought of as a monster who hated "wire Hangers ever!!!!" To me that is the real horror..Crawford died with a sterling reputation, only to have it forever scarred by a despicable book and movie. Ironic that Faye Dunaway was the star as she is an actress..still alive..who has had many folks who have worked with her decribe her behavior in a very critical way. There is a reason why she went from a major A list star to oblivion after making classics like Bonnie and Clyde and Network...

Same person said Rick was one of the nicest guys he met..so did not seem to have an ax to grind.
