True!! same with films!! Hitchock was so great at scaring folks by NOT showing the gore..the blood..but allowing the viewer to imagine it in their own head..far scarier and memorable than the simple use of gore

What made Robin Cook's choice to not have an ending in Nano by Robin Cook so egregious is that in ever one of his other books (over 2 dozen) there has always been endings. His readers assume there will be an ending..especially for a book so long as Nano..Well there is no ending! only questions..and a lead character so darn annoying that you really don't care what happens to her!

Love Scrooged!! And Carol Kane is one of those hilarious actresses. So unique and most effective in cameo and small roles so her shtick doesn't wear thin

25350 I am reading a superb Cold War espionage thriller Cloud Cover by Ron Terpening . I loved Tropic of Fear by the author, Ron and am very much enjoying his new book

25350 I found Neil Gaimen's The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman very wanting..needed more pages..more character development..a decent enough short story..uttely unsuited to being stretched (or attempting to be stretched) into a novella.
