I always enjoy Furst novels. Very intelligent and complex. Favorite is The Foreign Correspondent (Night Soldiers, #9) by Alan Furst

25350 I am reading The Columbus Affair by Steve Berry ... Live these history based thriller. Bit confusing at first as it skips around quite a bit in the first several chapters. But high hopes

I agree!! Hilarious film. And perfectly cast. And loved the script. Not a wasted word and every humorous situation worked!!

25350 I have an odd dilemma. As I posted previously ... I have embarked on a LONG term reading of Les Miserables by Victor Hugo .. I also read a current book as well and love to read a historical novel too. Les Miz is so engrossing I find it hard to read anything but current thrillers alongside it. Yet as I plan on taking the next 11 months to complete Les Miserables by Victor Hugo ... I feel a bit hogtied!!

KOMET wrote: "I went to see "THE MONUMENTS MEN" at the cinema earlier today. For anyone with an interest in the Second World War and a deep appreciation for art and cultural patrimony, this is the movie for you."

Interesting. Because this is a film I really want to see. A subject dear to my heart. Especially after visiting Yad Vashem in Israel. I had pause because of the big name cast. I prefer films like The Pianist. That focus on story rather than star power. So undecided on this one

I agree. So so powerful. The triumph of will and dedication of our fighting men was so perfectly illustrated

Margolin is usually a fun and easy read. Kath, I think most of us have been through "book slumps". I know I have!! It's been very hard for me to stick with most books the past month or so. And it is not the books. Just going through some unfortunate family issues. But like all things.. Will eventually pass
