I'm excited about this, I've never read it as an adult. I'm hoping my son (7) will ok this as one of our bedtime reads.

I've been reading these with my son (7). We're reading On the Banks of Plum Creek now. We'll read Farmer Boy, then probably take a break since Laura and Mary jump in age when the next book starts. These are a very interesting re-read as an adult. I've read them aloud to several groups of children over the years. When I read these as a child I saw things through Laura's eyes and didn't fully understand some of the hardships the family went through. Now the danger they were often in as they faced life is obvious to me.
Our bedtime reading is a your book/my book alternation. Sometimes, depending on how much time we have, we even read from two different books. Right now we're working on Plum Creek and How to Train Your Dragon.
