24794 I've read 48, and I'm fine with that number since there are plenty of books that are just as valuable that I've read that didn't make the list! But as Nicole said, those lists are fun because they remind you of (or introduce you to) books you want to read in the future.

I've read A Wrinkle in Time (and the others in that series), but although The Giver is on my shelf, I haven't read it. It's come up in several contexts lately, though, so I think I need to.

24794 I read this one several years ago, and I read it back-to-back with C.S. Lewis's Abolition of Man. The two of them taken together were a great combination for digesting what 1984 was about, and ever since, I've been looking for someone else who has read both books.

24794 Hi--I joined this because I end up reading classics interspersed with the other books I read. I recently re-read Gatsby, after reading Reading Lolita in Tehran. Currently I'm reading Jane Austen's Persuasion--somehow I've never read Austen at all until last year.
