The quote “In the dark, the eyes began to see” was once said by Theodore Roethke. I strongly agree with this quote. Many people have proven this quote correct, however not much of them know they are heroes. For instance in the book of Frederick Douglas by Frederick Douglas his theme of the book bases on the themes of struggle and courage. Furthermore he succeeds in achieving his dreams, and helps others achieve theirs. Another book is Frick the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick is another book connected to the quote. This book talks about the story of two teenagers that happen to be through hard times. Both of them become very bond together by their friendship and in their mighty imagination they battle and defeat all their problems. However tragedy strikes and ones misfortune can help build someone’s new future.
Theodore Roethke once said” In the Dark, the eyes began to see”. I agree with this quote because its something that can happen to anyone. What this quote is trying to say is that heroes are not born when they come to earth, but when someone has the courage or luck to overcome fears or challenges that have come in their paths. For instance it can be connected to the book of Frederick Douglas by Frederick Douglas. In the book, the character Frederick is a slave, all his life has been in slavery. The setting where this book takes place is a slavery plantation. He hardly got to know his mother or any other family member, all he knew was that his master could be his father. When he was little he saw how brutal and dangerous slavery could be, but didn't understand why? Why did it have to be like that? Or who had put him in slavery? In other words, he was in the darkness.
As he grew older and the plot developed he just didn't had to see the brutality and dangers of slavery, he had to feel them. But even than he still didn’t understand why? He study in secrete and got informed about slavery. At last he had been able to find what he was looking for, the answer to his "whys”. But knowing the answer was not what he expected, but at last he had seen a shine of light in his darkness. He than was determined to do anything to get out of his darkness. He had seen all the ignorance that people show. He was tire of having to see through the darkness. His eyes had finally been able to see through the dark.

The quote " In the Dark, the eyes began to see" is very interesting. i feel that it is really important because it can be connected to different things. for instance it can be connected to the book of Frederick Douglas. In the book, Frederick is a slave, all his life has been in slavery. He hardly got to know his mother or any other family member, all he knew was that his master could be his father. When he was little he saw how brutal and dangerous slavery could be, but didn't understand why? why did it had to be like that? or who had put him in slavery? Generally most humans are rise and care by their parents. Some people turn out to be like their parents and other prefer not to follow their example. “Parenting”, which is the noun/adjective/verb of being a parent, is not something anyone can be. Some people can be great and be what their child needs. For instance in the poem “Night Light”, the mother is describe as someone that the child can lean on and feel support by her.

Generally humanity will be thought to be part of every human. However there are moments in which humans loose their humanity. For instance during slavery, slaves were duhumanize by slave owners. Futhermore slave owners were dehumanize by slavery. In contrast with slaves, slave owners were not dehumanize against their will. Consequently slave owners would enjoy to brutaly whip their slaves. In conclusion humanity can be something that can be taken away by sosmethign so cruel, as slavery.

in my book the characters Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are discriminated because people believe they are murderers, while the real murderer is in the street trying to capture them. I believe people are judging them because of their ignorance. the newspaper that told the kids were murderers were them told lies to make the article interesting and people would read their articles.

ONE INTERESTING CITATION I FOUND IN MY BOOK WAS THIS ONE, "WHERE THERE'S SMOKE, THERE'S FIRE. I FOUND IT INTERESTING BECAUSE THIS CITATION DOES NOT ONLY REFER TO SMOKE AND FIRE, BUT OTHER THINGS. FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU FOUND PIECES OF ORANGE CRUMBS YOU CAN ASSUME THAT SOMEONE OR SOMETHING WAS THERE, OR WENT BY.
