The Dead Zone
############
Author: Stephen King
Publisher: Viking Press
Publication date: August 1979
Media type: Print (Hardcover)
Reviewer: iMorpheus

OMG WUT rating of 5:
I was a young teenaged boy when I read this. You know, that age when boys discover girls; so, the idea of my future actions being transmitted via tactile signals TERRIFIED ME.

I'll stop there.
Purchase Information:
I was not a very sophisticated reader in the '80s - nothing has changed since then. My library consisted of WWII books focused on the air war; science-ficition and also fantasy - I loved Piers Anthony.

Anyway, I was looking to expand my horizons, so one day while walking the aisle of the Goodwill store - UNTIL THIS MOMENT, I DID NOT REALIZE WE WERE NOT WELL OFF FINANCIALLY. WOW. I AM DUMB - I ventured over to the book section where I spotted the Dead Zone. My mom asked if I was sure that's what I wanted. I said, "Yes." To be honest, I had no idea what the book was about: I bought it for the neat typeface and the cool sounding title.

I read the book during my bus ride to school.

This was my gateway drug to King's brand of horror.
Recommendation:
If you want to cleanse your palate or while away a few hours, I would recommend this book to you. It's also a time capsule of what the world was like before the Internet.
Final Comment: King is the master of bloodless horror.
Back-panel Text: Ride along in the mind of a man destined to save the world....or not.
