I really liked the audios of the Kelley Armstrong books. I bought at least one of them on an Audible sale, maybe the first in a series one.

As a long time lurker of the group and recipient of many of your book recommendations, I wanted to tell you about this amazing book that Ilona Andrews recommended - Magic and the Shinigami Detective by Honor Raconteur. I wholeheartedly second this recommendation. I am about halfway through the first book, and I am already trying to figure out how to get all of her other books with my book budget. They’re each $6.99, which is high for a self-published book, but this first book is so great that I will be surprised if I don’t buy the second one today. Also, the second one is available though Kindle Unlimited, and some of her other books are as well.

Warning - the first chapter is a little dark, but the rest of the book so far is more of a detective novel with some paranormal elements (some steampunk, some magical creatures).

There might be a slow burn romance, but I would be fine if they ended as friends instead of lovers. I just love these characters so much.
