I would like to combine them..."
That is what is known, in technical terms, as A Very Bad Idea. By the time you get perhaps half of them onto one record, any additional combine attempt will take upwards of several hours to fail, and then you'll get to try and fail again. There are simply too many across all of the various versions.
Also, given that it's Religion with a capital R, some people get extremely particular—to the point of fighting literal wars, like with swords, cannon, and guns—over some particular version being "right" and all of the others wrong, spurious, or outright heretical and evil. They are not likely to take kindly to "it's all the same book, so combine them all," even if it was possible.

This had (until I got done with it) two volumes of Virgil's Aeneid in it, so this looks to me more like it should be an imprint, or perhaps a Listopia, rather than a series. However, as a GR Librarian, serieses aren't really my specialty, so I thought I should bring it here for some expert opinions rather than risk doing something both wrong and irreversible.

Conveniently, that is the current iteration, so I have added a librarian note to the profile that points back to this thread.
Thanks.

Che appears to be one of these. Over time, this profile has been Che Guavara, Ernesto Guevara, Ernesto "Che" Guevara, and presently Ernesto Che Guevara.
I believe the relevant Librarian Manual guidance is that "all editions should be the author name the book was originally published under" and that this would be Che Guevara (as he is most frequently referred to in the U.S.), but I am not entirely certain of either of these facts.
I think it would be useful if we could get a ruling and an authoritative Librarian Note on the profile.

This thread seems to have become moribund again, so I'll bump it again by noting that I'm now back in the top 40 having just crossed a quarter million edits.
Somehow, every time I go to add an old book I've bought used, I seem to get distracted into a major author disambiguation project again. At least it's good for my stats, if not for my actual physical shelves.

May need another Librarian to add the proper ACE crosslinking.

A cover image that provides clearer copyright permissions would likely help as well. See: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Read the sticky posts, particularly:

Take note of message 2 on that thread.

Also, go here if you want to claim the author profile and control your book records directly:

Thanks for the excellent supporting materials. However, please note that this request is a little complicated and may take some time & effort—I can see why many Librarians passed over it before.
Thanks in advance for your patience.

The empty record—which looks like a placeholder that was entered a couple of years prior to the book's release—has now been queued for deletion. With the number of reviews attached to it, since it was the "default" edition," it may take some time before it finally disappears. Those reviews should transfer to the Hardcover, as it was the second-most-popular edition prior to the deletion.
