I LARP (live action role play) a lot, and I know that it really stinks when the real world and the fictional world are both kind of dark. I wanted to leave this here to let everyone know that it's okay to take a break from The Handmaid's Tale or other challenging subject matter because it can be scary how the real world and fictional world are both tough at the same time. Please feel free to list your coping strategies below.
I try to read more lighthearted material and/or nonfiction and watch lighthearted media to balance out serious subject matter. Right now I'm watching "The Good Witch" on Netflix, which is pretty Hallmarky.
Thanks so much for reading along! While I own and operate TGI, Cindy and Michele are going to help run this book club. You won't see me leading every discussion/book - it's a shared responsibility! :) Let's take some time to get to know one another! I'm Tara, a full time content development specialist and freelance writer, editor, and playwright. I enjoy LARPing (live action role playing) and have a BA in English. I re-read a lot of WB Yeats and I'm currently working through Sarah Knight's books.
