215640 I agree we need more dedicated reviewers and I encourage readers as often as possible to post reviews of their reading (not just readers of my own books) I was amazed when I listed on IndieView how quickly my reading list jumped to three months worth.

As I am working on a new book I have less time for reading at all let alone writing reviews but I look forward to reviewing again once that is completed.

Like Patricia, I buy books I want to read but never get around to them. I think as reviewers we should reward ourselves once every x number of books by reading one of our own choice. Yes, it does feel like an unpaid job at times.

215640 Hi reviewers. I have something a bit different in Australian Non fiction and seeking interested reviewers. My book is called Merigal Dingoes.

Merigal Dingoes is collection of heart-warming Dingo (and one New Guinea Singing Dog) stories introducing readers to the true nature of Australia’s most maligned native animal, the Dingo.

The collection is based on the records of Berenice Walters, known as the Dingo Lady, and the my own experience. It would be a valuable addition for anyone wanting to learn more about the Dingo.

Berenice Walters dedicated her adult life to studying the dingo. She campaigned to improve its image and acknowledgement of its important environmental role as an apex predator. The stories demonstrate how her dingoes taught her about their personality, behaviour and antics with a large dose of reciprocated love, and humour.

It contains over 30 stories and 100 photos it will warm the heart of any animal lover.

The book is 158 pages and light reading.

I can provide mobi or PDF versions

215640 Yes, sometimes it is a struggle. The last Heldt book I read was 661 pages. Fortunately, it did hold my attention and because I read it on kindle I didn't realise how long it was in page count. I agree with you about Indie writers too. When I started reviewing I discovered some wonderful writers I would never see in a bookshop or pick up if I did.

215640 My current reading is The Memory Tree by John A Heldt. I don't read sci-fi but I love his time travel books. For me, a guide to how good a book is I base on how much I want that book on my bookshelves. I'd love the complete set of his three series but they are only available in eBook.

You are right about more deals and freebies but I avoid them due to my TBR list for reviewing. I guess many reviewers will know that feeling.

215640 I was another "anti Kindle" reader and still prefer a "real" books but I appreciate there are many advantages for writers.

I live in Australia so it is not always cost effective for authors to send print editions for review.

Unless we have a publisher or use POD it can also be a costly exercise to get our stories out there.

Of course, my packing is a lot lighter when I go on holidays - no heavy books for my husband to lug :-)

Having said that I love my ever growing bookshelves and being able to hold a "real" book - and they don't go flat at a crucial point in the story.

215640 I am an author, keen reader, blogger, reviewer, dingo lover and doting grandmother. Although my reading time is limited due to a biography I am writing, I particularly like to review for indie authors.
