I think I'm biased but The Sandman Series by Neil Gaiman, I finally got to reading them all, and I'm currently on Number 9. It's just such a well written and well illustrated comics series, and it manages to incorporate just so much story, myth, philosophy, art, culture, history, literature, and imagination into each book.

If I had to choose any other books...I know they're not a series by the entire collected works of David Sedaris. They just make me happy, and, they manage to create a new satiric voice that I would rank alongside Flannery O'Conner and Mark Twain.
