2059 The other senior members of the inner circle laughed at Himmler, even 5 SS generals said that he was the greatest fraud in the Third Reich.

2059 Hitler knew very well the importance of Antwerp, hence his targeting the port with rockets to try and destroy it. I agree most historians do not give much attention to it, and other ports.

2059 No unfortunately, but I knew some men who worked for both. One of them worked for Amt Blank and Organization Gehlen/CIA after the war, Lt. Gen. Walter Krupinski, who was a great friend and a 197 victory Luftwaffe ace. See his interview in The German Aces Speak I.

2059 I interviewed SS Obergruppenfuehrer Karl Wolff and a few other high ranking officers who knew Heydrich. From what they said, I would suggest that you watch the HBO film "Conspiracy" with Kenneth Brannagh, Stanley Tucci, et al. This film is a very accurate portrayal of the Jan 20 1942 Wannsee Conference. I also interviewed SA Gruppenfuehrer Gerhard Klopfer, the only living member of that meeting. This meeting was where they planned the Holocaust and camp systems.
2059 Yes Hitler issued the commando order, it came from Alfred Jodl to all commands and especially in N. Africa.
2059 Th e great irony of Himmler and even Hitler was that despite their ridiculous racial thoughts, they ammited many non Germanic men within the ranks of the Waffen SS. Of the 945,000 men who passed throught the ranks from 1940-45, only 240,000 were actually German/Austrian. Himmler would personally arrive to inspect these troops, such as the Bosnian Muslims of the 13th Handschar Division, the three Ukrainian and Russian SS Divisions, and other Freiwillegen units.
2059 I knew men who knew Goebbels, not a single one liked him, same with Himmler.
2059 Curtis Lemay confirmed that he knew about the bomb long before Truman, as he was in command of the bomb group that would deliver it.

2059 I met Julius at the Tuskegee reunion, my wife and I are honorary Red Tails (among other groups), and I knew the pilots very well, great interviews. Good man all.

2059 I interviewed one of the senior Waffen SS officers at Warsaw, interesting indeed.

2059 Canaris was good, but Reinhard Gehlen gave him a good run

2059 They made an error regarding the claim that the Iron Cross was the highest medal awarded for bravery. But a great story.
2059 Barrett is a good friend, and we did a History Channel show together in 2007 which aired in 2008. Good historian.

2059 The author Russell F. Weigley was my mentor and thesis advisor in graduate school at Temple University.

2059 I interviewed dozens of people who knew and even worked with/for Himmler, and not a single one had a good thing to say about him.

2059 I knew a few of them, including MOH recipient Sen. Daniel Inouye

Really? Did any of these interviews see print Colin?"

not yet, I have hundreds of interviews yet to be published, either as magazine articles or in books. One of the best was Lothar lowe, a 14 year old panzerfaust soldier who killed T-34s and a KV-1 by moving through the sewer system in Charlottenburg district in Berlin.
