I interviewed Gerhard Klopfer, Karl Wolff among many others. Look them up.

Just to throw it in, my older book Occupation and Insurgency details the war in the east, Holocaust and has interviews with SS officers.

Walter was one of my honors undergraduate students at AMU years ago, good historian.

My website has many of them on there.

I met her, not a great interview, not like the other 7 bunker survivors I did interview at length.

The purpose was to use it like a V-1 flying bomb.

I have a chapter on that in my book German Anti-Partisan Warfare, I interviewed Milovan Djilas, aid to Tito and Germans. I also met Veronica Maclean, his widow.

The 442nd RCT was the most decorated unit in Army history, and I knew a couple of the men, MOH recipients. I spoke with Sen. Daniel Inouye, MOH (lost an arm) from the 442 and he had some sorrowful tales to tell. I also interviewed a couple of Germans who fought them, and they admired their tenacity and courage. High praise coming from these two men.

I guess since he was over 80 years of age he had nothing to really hide. See one of his comments in my book The Star of Africa, and also Occupation and Insurgency.

Sounds like this historian should have interviewed some participants of the Battle for Crete like I did.

The film was 50% history, 50% fantasy

The film was 50% history, 50% fantasy

I knew many P-47 pilots, the best story came from Robert S. Johnson of the 56th FG, and Georg-Peter Eder of JG-26, on their perspectives.

Ryan, Ray Toliver and Trevor Constable were my idols, and the last two became friends starting me on my career.
