"Cool, I wish that I had something like that," I felt a twinge of guilt as I thought about my father. "something to remind me of my family, I mean."

I shuffled my feet awkwardly again.

I looked a her for a moment, slowly scanning her person, but my eyes kept being drawn back to her bow.

the carvings were so intricate that it seemed as though they had been grown into the wood.

"where did you get that bow? it's beautiful."

"Thanks, my dad told me that mom 'made' my eyes special," I sighed, it hurt to think about my father "that they are unbiased eyes."

I looked down at my feet and shuffled them slightly "I still don't know what he meant,"

"I'm from Texas, but before you says something, that's not why I say howdy, not everyone from Texas says it." I said wondering if she even knew about that stereotype.

"I just say howdy because I find it more fun to say than a simple hello." This seems like someone that I should be friends with I thought to myself

"Your actually the first person that iv'e talked to that wasn't giving me the tour." I said, giving a small smile.

I stopped to think for a second, i looked at the bow hanging from the girls fingers. very beautifully carved I thought as I looked at the patterns on the body of the weapon.

I started again with one of the two questions that I could think of. "So, you know my name, whats yours?"

the girl seemed to be startled by my sudden appearance, I looked at the spot where the arrow had thudded into the center of the target. Definitely noteworthy. I thought to myself

"Oh hey! I haven't seen you around, you new?" she asked me. I guess she had seen my amazed expression as i looked at the target because she then snorted a little and said "Well thanks, that's the first perfect shot I've hit all morning!"

It felt odd to have started the conversion, I didn't really know what to say except "yeah i'm new, I'm Gareth, i found this place a couple of days ago, I'm the new Nemesis guy." did it sound awkward? did it sound arrogant? I wasn't sure if it had come out the way i had meant it to sound.

I walked past the archery range, hood drawn tightly around my face to hide myself from the rain, someone was there shooting, they were pretty good, noteworthy.

I walked over to them.

"howdy," I said, so that I was sure that they noticed me.

I am a roleplayer at heart and a writer of stories that will likely never be finished (for lack of inspiration rather than interest). I have come to join this group in hopes of overcoming my writer's block and rekindle the spark of creativity that has long since left me. I hope this group is as glorious as it looks
