I agree with you Dale. Writing for publication does give you a wider audience for sure.

My stint with KU will be over on Feb 24th too. I going to try my luck going wide and see what happens.
It will be interesting to see what happens for you!

I'm so sorry to hear that Sam. I know mental health issues are different for everyone but if you'd like to hear how I recovered, I'd gladly send you a pdf of my book. Sometimes reading other people's stories can help (I read a lot of them before I got well) At the very least it might give you a laugh and some hope :)
Anyway, just let me know. I realize many people don't like to read heavy topics such as mental health so please don't feel obligated.
Wishing you well

I responded to the article too Sam. It breaks my heart how many people are in this situation and am thankful that my intense fear of addiction prevented me from taking them myself.
I'm sorry you're affected by this.

201765 Great idea Alex.
I do find there's a big difference in options available depending on whether your book is free or not and also the genre.
Mine is not free and is part self-help/ part memoir so it's a bit more challenging but so far I get most success with Amazon sponsored ads.

201765 On checking my book sales this morning, I'm surprised to see that 50% of orders are for paperbacks.
I don't sell a lot (average one per day) but it's uplifting to see that physical books are still going strong.

So happy I didn't listen to the 'expert' that told me not to waste my time creating the paperback ;)

201765 Here's this week's good - not so good - all good again!
Last November I created a giveaway for a gift pack of my book and journal. The woman who won it loved it and contacted me earlier this month to see if she could buy 2 more gift packs.
I had never thought to sell the book and journal together but couldn't say no and she wired me the money.
The problem was I didn't have any spare journals so I quickly ordered a few copies with a delivery date of Jan 20th and I waited and waited.
When they didn't arrive by Jan 24th, I checked the global shipping company' tracking and it said the package had been dropped off at my door on the 19th......nope.
Called Amazon (the shipping company will not take calls from Amazon customers :( After finally answering all the questions such as "Did you look everywhere?" she said the package is declared lost and my money would be refunded.
That's great but I still had a customer who had prepaid and I still didn't have the books. Went through the process again to order the books and even with fastest shipping it takes at least a week but I was stuck so had no choice.
The next evening at 8:00pm a box arrived at my door.
My original order arrived!

phew!!!
