I used to engage them on twitter very politely, and most of the time, they would end up apologizing to me. A public apology from a mean troll can be fun. If you want to play, just tweet "law of attraction" as a phrase and see what comes in. Or, tweet "Assange is a menace". Even though that's not true! (she said quiveringly in terror)

Wow. What is with people (!) btw I forgot to mention, Justin, that you are also clearly a sweetheart. Nice to see real folks out there :)

I wonder where trolls come from. Maybe they wrote something mediocre & flogged it all over social media, but people still didn't buy it. So trashing other authors makes them feel good for a few seconds. I'm going to do something radical and NOT use social media to try selling books. If the quality is there, then, word of mouth might do the trick, in a decade or so. Social media is just a vast pool of emptiness. No real content there.

Thanks Marie, good tip. I should have joined Goodreads under my author name. Not thinking ahead, just madly rushing ahead. I'm going to get a new account and start over. Don't mind me ....

I think I already know the answer to this ... I just added my indie book, written under pseudonym (i.e. my Goodreads account is under my own name, which is different). After adding the book, I'm asked to rate it and review it. I think it's totally awesome of course. But I should just leave the reviewing to others, correct? Did other authors writing under pseudonym review their own books? Or is this crass and in poor taste?
