I gotta say, that blurb is the most enticing thing I've read all day. It's awesome. Are you doing ARCs for this by any chance? 'Cause I'd read and review the heck out of this.

Carole, I just popped in to scan through this board and I am super delighted right now! Thank you for the epic compliments. I'm going to be floating on air for days!

I just finished Navigating Indieworld. What a wonderful read. I especially appreciated its guidance about promotion; it made me feel like I'm on the right track!

Agreed. As long as the flow of the language has a good cadence and the word choice is right, I will never be put off by an easy read just because it's an easy read. Easy reads with insipid content? Right out - and same goes for reading at a higher difficulty level. Content remains the priority - but I'm pretty sure that writing that's easy to read facilitates engrossment (then again - I think we adapt to whatever the writing style is in a specific piece).

That's fascinating. I ran two of my short stories through it and apparently I'm writing at a sixth-grade level. Ooooh. I particularly liked the pie charts that depicted how much of the population is actually skilled enough to read certain pieces of writing. Illuminating!

I'm reading Carole P. Roman's (along with J.A. Gerber) "Navigating Indieworld" with a large cup of coffee and a smile on my face. I'm trying to slip in a little bit of reading before my 5yo wakes up!

OMG, Ceci, may I just say that the cover and blurb for Cloak and Dagger are amazing? The sweep of that red cloak is divine, and that blurb is expertly crafted. I am *all about* tales of vengeance.

*hides macadamia nuts* What? *speaks through squirrel-like cheeks. Seriously though, I'm obsessed with macadamias and almonds right now.

*stops dishing out cake* Um. Do we need a medic? Wait, I know just the thing. A scoop of rainbow sherbert as a digestif. How's that? And a peppermint candy. See? All better! *hopes*

Oh. Well in that case... *opens freezer*... Would you like some ice cream with that? You poor thing. No one should suffer so! I have chocolate, vanilla, and butter brickle to go with that. Would you like a single, double, or triple scoop?
Now I want ravioli. Your fault. =P

Oreo smash cake, that's what kind, with a brownies and cream base. *wields spatula* who's in? *brews coffee*

Thank you Carole and R.L.! *brings a cake*

I love this thread. My Amazon wishlist just got a lot longer! Carole, thank you so much for providing this amazing space. It's like a dream come true.
I write short horror and dark fantasy fiction. Here's my author page:
