A very informative mix of Darwin biography, history and scientific background.
I'm not that strong on science and don't have much background knowledge about evolution theory.
My family all believe in creationism, when I was growing up evolution was a dirty word to my parents. My grandmother took the fire&brimstone approach to religion and had quite the violent temper when disagreed with. The name Charles Darwin risked triggering a volcanic explosion and could never even be whispered in the house.

How about adding "also" to 1st sentence and "very" to 2nd sentence.
In between juggling family problems and the machinations of an ambitious underling, he also has an armed robbery to investigate.
Throw in the suggestion that the Russian Mafia could be involved in Alice Keating's abduction and Stone has his hands very full.

I prefer the new blurb.
But I love this text as a front cover tagline- a kidnapping, an armed robbery and an enemy closer than anyone realises.
You might want to split the longest sentence beginning with "Not only does he have to juggle family problems" into two or three shorter sentences.
Maybe you might want to edit the final line?
Something along the lines of- A Luddite at heart, can Stone overcome his struggles with technology, find Alice before the ransom is paid, and halt the kidnappers reign of terror.

I read all genres but sci-fi.
I am happy to read titles by self-published authors.
My top fiction genres are adventure, thriller, fantasy, historical, horror, mystery, romance and erotica.
I read crime but prefer to keep away from issues like child abuse.
I also read non-fiction- I particularly love cookbooks and there is a special place in my heart for cocktail recipes.
Typically pdf format gets reviewed faster.
But I also read kindle mobi, epub and doc versions.
If interested send me a PM or post below.
