Jennifer Peacock-Smith
Blurb:
Do you, or a loved one, struggle with Anxiety or Panic Attacks? Are you tired of feeling that you are at the mercy of your body, the experts, and situations that you can't control? Do you feel that traditional advice leaves you feeling as though you are swimming against the tide?
In The Lion and the Peacock, Jennifer shares candidly about her life with Anxiety, Stress, and Panic Attacks. Using very simple analogies, Jennifer weaves a tale that helps to turn the complicated processes within the body and the mind, into an inspiring and well-written story that pulls her readers into the moment. Through her vulnerability and honesty, she takes them through her experiences and learnings in such a way that one is left feeling validated, inspired and above all educated about themselves.
Through her stories, Rib Theory, and the workbook at the back, you will learn how to:
- Unpack your own anxiety journey
- Listen to your body and understand what it is doing and why
- Use the tide to work for you instead of having to fight against it
- Create a safe world around you to forge a way forward
- Beat anxiety once and for all
Jennifer presents her story of trial, hope, and victory in this easy to read, eloquently written resource that will leave you feeling empowered and inspired.

Hi girls. I love all your something good happened stories. I got 6 new likes on my Fb author page this week, half of them might be you lot lol but it is still numbers! I also saw my interviews on some of your sites and that was really cool too! Nice to see someone promote me that isn't me

Can i make a suggestion (sorry). I am loving this whole process, but I think that when 2 authors interview each other on the same week it looks a little bit set up as well as the fact that we don't get as much mileage out of it. I promote my blogs and I see that most of you guys do too, which means that we are advertising each other the same week. Whereas if there were a couple of weeks between me interviewing you and you interviewing me, then we both get coverage on different weeks (not sure that that even makes sense)... any thoughts anyone?
Thanks everyone! I have sent my questions to all four people I am interviewing and just waiting on Alex to get back to me, and I have responded to all the questionaries sent to me. I will be posting my blogs on Monday and Friday the next two weeks :) Will share them on Twitter and Facebook so look out for them and support those writers :)
I've started being more active on my author Facebook account. They say for all social media the 8-/20 rule really helps to be seen as real and authentic and not plugging our own stuff. So the trick is (and this is another reason that having your profile your author one and not your personal one) is that you can spend a few days (over a week or in one or two sittings) and search all your favourite authors in your genre, publishers etc and like like like and follow. Then even if you never do that again, every time you open your newsfeed, it is filled with all the authory sites that you like (and each others). You can share and like stuff (bottom corner of everything in your newsfeed you get to choose whether you share, comment or like using your page or your profile, and then that goes on your own Author wall. That way people see you commenting and get to know you and then they sometimes check you out. If they like your contributions then they are even more likely to follow you... so even if none of your content is unique to you, you can still start to build up a following. :)

I wrote a blog post in Janua..."I have thought about that a bit and I am not sure that I would have my personal account as an admin or even connected to it. A couple of trusted friends should do the trick. They don't even have to do anything, it is just that if anything happens to your personal Facebook account, you can start a new one and they can add you back in as admin of your own Page :) I hope that helps!
PS: If you want a Facebook AUTHOR PAGE to be successful, then you need to be active and interact with other people and groups. You also cannot do anything on your PAGE unless you are checked into Facebook using an account. You can only post as the author of your PAGE if you are signed in as the account behind it. So when you are sharing and liking and so on, on your PAGE, sometimes you will purposefully or accidently like or comment as the account. Some things can only be done as the account holder and not the PAGE. I am sorry if this doesn't make sense. However, when you do this activity, it appears on the Newsfeeds of your friends. Hence people often have 2 different accounts.
Part of the confusion is that Facebook (and the people who use it) call both personal accounts and PAGES, "Facebook Pages" which gets really confusing. I wrote a blog post in January on this topic and the difference as part of a series I wrote on social media (I'll add a link at the end of this). Here are some of the things to consider:If you use a pen name to write and it is around the place (on other sites that you have like your blog, email address etc), then that is still you, especially if the pen name is related to you semi-legally (ie it is a family name, your maiden name, your mother's maiden name etc). The problem is that nothing is set in concrete. A good friend has only one facebook account, has had it forever, never got into any trouble, but changed her name when she got married last week and Facebook would not accept her new name as it is also the name of a thing (like White, Wise etc) and she had to show ID to prove it, yet her husband had had no problem signing up using the exact same name.
Another thing to consider is that if you build your facebook PAGE from your personal one, they will be connected whether you like it or not. When you write on your PAGE it will appear on the newsfeeds of your friends, and you can't stop that. If you don't mind then that is absolutely fine, in fact heaps of people allow all their friends and family to see their business stuff because they are proud of it and because they can help to support it.
But some of us use pen names because of our stories and we need to keep the line between personal and private very strong.
The only way to keep them separate on Facebook is to have two totally unrelated Facebook accounts, each with their own email address, but they are both you. Many people have two, one for personal and one for professional. As mentioned above, there are all kinds of risks, whether real or imaginary, and new risks rise all the time. So having a backup of a second or even a third admin can protect the PAGE which will continue to exist even if the facebook account behind it is removed.

I was telling you that while writing my nonfiction books I wanted to check some family history for accuracy and joined a huge Facebook group. I was found among thousands of people by a distant cousin that I didn't know existed. She is also an author, has moved to Tuscany (where we were visiting a few months later and so we got to visit her) and we have so much in common. So special! :)
I have had 2 facebook accounts for a long time and one is private and the other under my pen name. The author page is made out of the author profile so that it doesn't connect with my private one. I have a friend who is also a full admin on my Author Page so if anything happens to any of my private accounts, there is someone who can add me back in. I did this because someone had their Facebook account compromised, which could happen to any of us on any day. They needed to delete their account (it was their only account and it was personal) but because their friend was an admin of the Page, they could add her new account back in. It is the Page that we build up over the years and need to protect, whether we have one or three accounts doesn't really matter :)
I have just signed up! I love blog tours! I have done a couple before and got to know some awesome authors a bit better, and I think that they are a great idea :) I would be happy to be involved in lots. I am happy to showcase another author a couple of times a week :)

Alex I feel for you! I have a creative side so that helps me a lot. I think it is still better to have a web page than not to. I don't have the time to walk you through and I am not tech savvy but have you looked at Wordpress at all? They have great themes and templates, all for free. It can be simply put together and at the very least somewhere that you can send people to. Here is mine: https://jenniferpeacocksmith.wordpres... this is totally free one. I use my own pics because I can but you can choose a theme with pics already on it that you like? I would hate for you to miss out just because it isn't your thing. I can't take you through at a deep level but I am happy to answer questions :)
ANother great read and reading all the comments here :) I love my blog/author page and update it a few times a weeks but I need to redo a lot of it. But at least having it there is a huge help. Love the idea of the round robin and book club :)
Thanks Ariel, no pressure, but if you would like a quick read on anxiety here is my self published first book: https://www.amazon.com/Lion-Peacock-H...
